Yes, you will be able to talk fine so you can tell everyone how your braces hurt! Well it won't be that bad after a week or so, but I didn't realize how much they hurt until after about 5 hours or so and you will also have to get used to eating bc at first it really feels funny, I am 20 and I've had them for about 5 months and I am amazed with the transformation, so its true they do hurt but the results are worth it! Just pile up on the Tylenol.

I just got my lower braces yesterday (I got my top braces first) and I will be perfectly honest with you. It will hurt. When they put on the braces it will not hurt at all but once you have them after about an hour or so they will hurt alot. It will be painful to chew almost anything unless its very soft and moist. You will probably get a kit from the dentist which will include floss, wax to ease the pain ,a packet of mouthwash to ease the pain,a brochure, and a toothbrush. Make sure the read the brochure because it will cover alot of the questions you want to know about your braces. After about a week or so the pain will completely go away. But your braces might rip the sides of your mouth (Its not as bad as it sounds, dosent really hurt, just annoying). Just wait for about 2 weeks and you will completely forget they're there.

GRACE, yes you will be able to talk normal in a couple of days if not the same day. My little girl has went through this and so have I so I won't lie to you . Now if you have to have a retainer afterwards that's a different story it will take you a few days to get used to it , but not long OK. The Orthro. will let you know what you can eat and not eat OK it will be just fine. Good luck.

Yes you can talk normally. My brother had braces and when he first got them they hurt. But after awhile he got used to them. You probably shouldn't kiss anyone unless you're an expert because you can actually get your braces caught in the lips of another person.

Yep you will talk normally. If you mouth aches take Ibuprofen or Naproxen for the pain and plan on soft foods today such as mashed potatoes or soup etc.
