I've been trying for years now-but finally, when I found a bump on her gum-was able to get her in to see an emergency dentist. The bump was nothing to worry about-but they found 6 cavities! All in her back teeth-all of which are adult teeth. (She's 7.) I'm worried about how she'll react when they come to fill the cavities-my guess is she'll be hysterical! Someone told me they often put children under to fill cavities if they feel the child will be overly distressed. Is that true?

A week ago I got my two two bottom wisdom teeth removed. The swelling went down on both sides of my mouth, but now is reappearing on the right side. I am having trouble irrigating the hole on that side as well. If I go back to the surgeon, how is he likely to treat the infection? If antibiotics, what sort?

i have all 4 wisdom teeth emerging, the top 2 are through but the bottom 2 have been trying to come through for about 6-7 years which is much longer than the top 2, and they are still only peeping through. My dentist doesnt seem to want to do anything about it, although i hav a bad smell coming from the gum and i keep getting really painful infections. I read that this means they are impacted?? what should i do?

Old granny's teeth keep a fallen out. She don't know how to keep her mouth shut so her teeth stay in her mouth. Fixident is not working well. You don't want to see poor granny's teeth fall out when you are watching her at the resturant, do you? What will keep those suckers in her mouth besides super glue? Be nice please.

I had a question...

I had my tooth repositioned due to a fall, and I have had no pain since the accident, even when it was out of place. But something I'm not sure of is a pulsation sensation I sometimes feel for a couple seconds, maybe 2 or 3 seconds at a time...just now and then, not daily. My accident happened on the 4th of December, and I just had the wire taken off a week ago which stabalized the tooth.

Is this pulsating ok? It's not painful at all, I can just feel it on the tooth, then it stops. I'm hoping it's a sign of it healing properly

I got my braces off a couple of months ago. I wore my retainers regularly for about a month but for the past month or so I've haven't worn them regularly. Now they barely fit, but I can still get them in my mouth. If I wear them all the time, will my orthodontist notice?

is there anyway to expedite the process of having braces? Not really into having them for 2 years (havent had the consultation yet but i figure thats it) but if speeding up the process leads to bad results then ill just stick it out for the 2 years.. So is there anyway to make the process go faster? like more frequent visits?

So... My dentist has suggested I get my four impacted wisdom teeth out and I am toying with the idea of in the chair with novocaine or under anaesthesia. Does anyone have any suggestions through past experience and what the recovery was like?

I've been having horrible migraines ever since my wisdom teeth started trying to squeeze into my jaw (no space for the top two and the bottom two are horizontally impacted).

When I was almost 3 I had to have all my teeth pulled out cuz they were so rotten. I don't remember that, but I do remeber I had no teeth til I was in 3rd grade. When my adult teeth came in they were already rotten. I don't have any enamel on my teeth and they were never very white. They're more a sort of a brownish yellow, with dark brown places and holes in them. Pieces break off a lot and I had to have a lot of my back teeth pulled out already. What I have left is falling apart. I want to just have them all pulled out, but the dentist I went to said he wouldn't do it cuz I'm only 12 and they can be saved but it will cost a lot. I'd rather go toothless like before than be stuck with ugly teeth that are always breaking, or sit thru alot of work. Besides my mom said it will cost almost as much as our house and we can't afford it. My mom had all her teeth pulled out and she got fake teeth when she was in high school. I'd rather do that too, or just stay toothless like I was before.

So I had my left lower wisdom tooth extracted 8 days ago. It was fine the first several days, but now that I have started using that side of my mouth again, I have sensitivity when eating, and especially when drinking something cold. Is this normal?

Lol sorry, but just watching American programmes and stuff you can see that the majority of people have straight white teeth. Whereas people in Britain don't as much.. is it cheaper dental care or something?! Or genetics lol!

The orthodontist has recommended surgery, some extractions, and braces for up to 2 years. I am alittle concerned about all of this for a 12 year old. Are we doing the right thing by going ahead?? It's alot of money, but we will do it if necessary. Is there any other views that I am not aware of?
