Hon..... you will be OK. You sound young, so the dentist will take very good care of you and put some sweet medicine on your teeth to make them numb and sleepy. It will be a piece of cake and you will wonder why you worried about it at all!

I know it can be scary. I worked in a dental office for over 6 years. Even adults get really scared. No joke! Honestly I had all but one of my baby teeth removed. That was because they were too strong and didn't want to come out. I didn't think any of it hurt. I wouldn't wiggle them out myself unless they were really loose. That may cause problems. You do need to get them removed though because the new teeth on top need to come in normally. Some people avoid the dentist all together which is the worse thing. Always go regularly and brush twice a day. That will prevent future problems and hopefully other procedures. *****At the office, take deep breaths to relax. Let the dentist know you are scared. After they give you a shot, make sure your mouth is numb to avoid any pain. Then you can ask the dentist to talk to you or think of something pleasant while they are removed. That will help take your focus away. God Bless!

baby teeth arent so bad. When I was 14 I had 8 baby teeth removed at one time. I was scared out of my mind but I was more scared to be knocked out and have it done that way. You will get lots of novacaine shots (if your dentist is good then you shouldn't feel them much) and if you are still feeling pain he will stop and numb you up some more. I think I had a total of 21 shots- but that was 8 teeth though. The molars hurt a little more than the little baby teeth. One thing you might want done if you havent already is get a second opinion, in my case even though Xrays were done by a moronic othodontist, they actually took out too many teeth out and I have a gap where i didnt have an adult tooth to replace it with. Anyway I wouldn't worry too much, maybe you could take headphones/i-pod in with you or something to ease your mind. there is also the newer option of sedation dentistry where the dentist gives you a mild sedative (pill form) and monitors your vitals while it relaxes you and takes the edge off (it won't knock you out or anything). Good luck!

No it doesn't hurt too bad but i agree that it is very scary. Baby teeth are much better than wisdom teeth but it's still an ordeal. Trust your dentist and it won't be that bad for you. Don't try to "wiggle" you teeth as this might enflame your gums and make it worse for you when your teeth get pulled (in other words it might hurt then). Normally the only thing you feel is the mild "prick" of the novacaine. Then you don't feel anything again - trust me. Your dentist will likely give you some anti-biotic and a pain killer for later if you think you need it. It won't be so bad - you're a big girl now and I know you will get through this experience. Good luck.

Hi,
Getting your teeth pulled is never one of the memorable moments in ones life, for sure. I can;
however; give you some advice; as I was one of those adults who had "baby teeth" a lot later than I should have. There are though, many, many improvements in Dentistry, since my days.
The dentists have everything from: hypnosis to
what they call a twi-light sleep dentistry. I have experienced that. I was medicated and awake during the entire procedure; BUT; I didn't feel a thing! Honest not a thing! All I remembered about that visit, was how I enjoyed the Rock-n-Roll music I requested during the procedure. You will have to bring someone with you to drive
you home, as you are a bit woozy, but it passes very quickly. I do not know how old you are, this may not be recommended for you, should you be a younger person, but I hope this gives you some degree of help and or takes a bit of stress
from you. Best of luck - let me know how you make out. God bless -

The procedure shouldn't hurt, if you have a good dentist. It's mostly the crackling noises and pops you feel during it that may be a little uncomfortable. But afterwords, yeah it hurts. Especially if you dislodge the clot (they call it "dry socket" when this happens) that forms where your tooth used to be. So, listen to the doc when he says no smoking, sucking on straws, chewing gum etc...he'll give you something for the pain. Don't pull it yourself-you wont get the whole tooth out, and you are not in a sterile environment. Just go to your appt.

I'll be thinking about this question as I get my root-canal tomorrow!

Don't worry; the dentist will numb your mouth in the area, and all you'll feel is some pressure. Baby teeth have very little in the way of roots left (they dissolve as the time to lose them approaches), so there's really not much holding them in. Your gums might be a little sore for a day or two, but it's not nearly as dreadful as it sounds like you're expecting. Hang in there - you'll do great!

Well, it might hurt a bit.

The worst part is that they have a shot in tour mouth (which hurts) to make you all numb...

Like I said to other askers, wiggle it as much as you can, and when it becomes really loose at the time you can like twist it, twist it. It'll come off. Oh yeah, and if you push it too hard, you might make it really wiggly when is not that wiggly and it might bleed alitte.

It does not hurt at all. The others are trying to scare you. If the tooth is loose, the dentist may pop it out with no anaesthetic; usually the nerve is already disconnected. If it is more solidly still in the gum, he/she will use an anaesthetic. You won't feel it.

Baby teeth were supposed to fall by themselves, it won't hurt that much when removing, only at night maybe it will hurt a little.
