I got my braces off a couple of months ago. I wore my retainers regularly for about a month but for the past month or so I've haven't worn them regularly. Now they barely fit, but I can still get them in my mouth. If I wear them all the time, will my orthodontist notice?

If the retainers aren't distorted and you can fit them in without discomfort, you should be able to use them. I wouldn't be so worried about your ortho noticing you haven't been wearing them. He's already been paid for your treatment. It's you that will have to go through braces all over again, to include paying for them. Now that you've thought about it this way, are you really still worried about him noticing? Hope I've opened your eyes a little as to the inevitable consequences that you face if you continue not to use your retainers. Good luck.

I did the same thing, and yes, he'll notice because it will be too snug and he'll have to adjust it to fit your mouth... you better start wearing it regularly or at the very least at night- everynight because that is when your teeth are most likely to shift. Otherwise you could end up needing braces again... that would suck!
