I have personally not had any luck with any of the whitening toothpastes. It may work but not a significant amount. It is ok for teens. And if you're using baking soda, I recommend putting toothpaste on your brush and dipping the brush in baking soda, you just need a little to cover the toothpaste. If you do the baking soda by itself you may be disappointed with the taste, it's really quite nasty. It's doable with the toothpaste. Good luck to you.

I do not recommend Crest, or the whitening strips. Yes, they may get your teeth white, but is because they are very abrasive... essentially eating away at your teeth.
Baking soda is far more natural; while it certainly won't eat away at you, it's still pretty harsh. Some people prefer *food grade* hydrogen peroxide instead. I highlight food grade because I don't want you getting the conventional stuff - you don't want to ingest that.
Somewhere between conventional and healthy (can't call it organic), I was introduced to Oxyfresh's Non-Fluoride Toothpaste and no alcohol zinc mouthrinse. Low abrasiveness and I found it whitened teeth significantly in one day (it gets better though as you use it more). As a plus, it balances the acid/alkaline ratio in your mouth, killing the bad bacteria, but leaving the good (leading to nice breath).
Happy searching, and best of luck to you!

You might also want to consider the Crest Whitening strips. Or Walmart also has a generic brand that is a little cheaper. They really do work. My daughter used them to whiten her teeth before the prom. I could definitely tell a difference.

The Rembrandt line is great. It is also safe. Baking soda should be mixed with a small amount of hydrogen peroxide, enough to make a paste. It cleans very well.

You should only use whitening toothpastes once a week, the ingredients will break down the enamel on your teeth.
