Mouthsore's are caused for many different reasons.
Do not be afraid of the medication. They do not carry residual affects to the body.

Do refrain from allowing anyone to place large objects in your mouth that will hit the sorespot until you are healed.

Good Luck!

Alright, I have battled with cankers for my entire life. They have gotten so bad before that I want to the ER.
Unfortunately, after going to the ER, my own doctor, as well as a ear/nose/throat specialist and dentist, I have not found much help either.
Here are the things that have helped me:
Keep your mouth extremely clean!! Brush at least twice daily, floss, and use mouthwash DAILY. Always keep your mouth as clean as possible.
The best stuff to relieve the pain is anbesol. It has the best numbing stuff in it, and lasts the longest. Other than that, try to just keep the area clean and don't bother with pasty medecine that just collects germs.
The ER perscribed me some pills that they thought might help. I didn't find them to be of any help. They were pills that they give to people with stomach ulcers. They advised me to crush them up with a few drops of water and make a paste. Cankers are ulcers in the mouth, but I still didn't find this to help much.
The best thing I have found to work it just keeping your mouth as clean as possible, use the anbesol to relieve pain, and ride out the storm. Also taking tylenol for the pain is very helpful.
I have had more than one doctor tell me that there is no other cures.
Sorry, I hope this helps. I know how hard it is to deal with!

There is a medicine in pharmacies called Lactinex. It's refrigerated so you'll have to ask the pharmacist for it. You chew 3-4 about 4 times daily and I promise the ulcer will be gone within 2-3 days and stop hurting after the 1st day and they taste sweet. I've tried salt water and everything else there is and i promise, this will work!! I get them all the time and as soon as i see one coming out I go buy it and it's gone before you know it. It's only about 11 dollars. An ulcer is a lack of something in your body and this medicine puts what it's lacking back. (i can't remember exactly what it is the pharmacist told me it lacks)

Go see a doctor. The mouthsores may actually be caused by something. Hopefully your doctor can figure out what.

I have the same thing. Try taking L-lycine pills. They should be at shopko or target, any store like that. They are a vitamin/protein pill, you can get 250 - 500 mg. You can take the 250 once or twice a day and the 500 once a day. It's pretty genetic for my family to get canker sores, and we all take these and it helps all of us.

I get cankersores in my mouth quite a bit too. Go to the store and get the spice Alum and dab it on the sores once or twice a day. It always speeds up the healing process and takes the pain away for me. I hope that helps, I know what you are going through:)

yup, you get canker sores a lot huh? my fiance gets them quite often also. try to cut back on greasy and very acid foods. gargle some salt water or apply a small pinch of salt right on the sore. it will hurt like h.e.l.l. for a minute but it help it heal faster.
i checked it out on the Internet before and there isn't anything you can do to permanently get rid of them, it just tells you what not to eat and to brush and floss teeth often.

maybe you need to gurgle few minutes as it affects your mouthsore. put you medicine at night so that it would work. take your vitamins and refrain from hitting your mouthsore. for me if i have mouthsores i just put "tawas" (it was like a white stone my sis bought it in the phillipines) i dunno what it's name in english... but its effective!
