Dental - October 2006

Are their any things I can do. I had reconstructive jaw surgery and they cut my nerve. They said it might regenrate but they hold little hope. My chin is completely numb and I cannot stand it. I am so self consious eating by myself in fear that I get food on my chin. Can you do anything other than wait to see if it will regenrate.

I'm very interested in having a very healthy mouth. I do have few minor gaps which I will be undergoing treatment with Invisalign in a week or two.

I want to keep my teeth forever til' the day I die...so how?

Is it okay to brush my teeth more than 3 times a day? More the better? I ask cause I would brush can brush them like 4-5 times I day..when i wake up, sleep and before and after meals.

So how can I have healthy gums too?

I'm currently 18 years of age and have had like 1 cavity my whole life.

The only problem a dentist has ever told me what that i grind my teeth so ive been concious about it and try not to anymore.

I used to smoke a little weed like once a week for 3 months but have stopped because i care more about my mouth.

I dont think any soda, just water...well, also juices and stuff like that.No candy.

Also...i heard that using mouthwash is just as effective as using floss except getting food stuck between teeth out...but in terms of killing germs and all yea.

I asked a question on here the other day about needing to find a dentist because I thought my wisdom tooth was coming in, but I found out that my back molar is cracked and the molar in front of that one needs a root canal. My husband and I lost a baby girl in Aug and are paying for a funeral and we do not qualify for the Credit Care Card (Medical credit card). We have insurance but don't have the $500 it is going to cost to get the root canal and the other tooth pulled. I have tried Community Care in my area, Semar, Dental Schools (Booked until Jan or Feb). All the dentists that I called are not willing to work with me on a payment plan. They all want payment upfront....even after I explain the situation. It is really frustrating when dentists keep saying that people need to get in every 6 months, but are not willing to help someone out that is having financial problems.

i lost my paper for the headgear and the packet for it, i looked everywhere but can't find either. The paper is just how many hours i wore the headgear and stuff, if i show up tom, do you think the doctor will get angry?

I'm in terrible pain from my wisdom teeth AND from my braces. And I've been trying to wear my rubber bands as often as I can, but I just can't bear the pain.
Do you think they'll pull them all now, or wait till after I get my braces off?

I have an ulcer on my tounge and it is very painful. I do music with children tonight and it really hurts when I talk. Any suggestions on how to ease the pain? Getting rid of the ulcer? Please, it really hurts

basically a quarter of the tooth has fallen away now which i assume has exposed nerves which is why it hurts a lot now. I am going to see the dentist this week but want to know what the likely treatment is going to be. Can he/she just do a filling job, or is he likely to remove the tooth (very back, left one). If he removes it, i wont want a replacement so will the gum just heal over itself.

Also im based in the UK anyone have any ideas of prices for doing a filling of this kind, or if its a removal of the tooth how much that would cost.

I'm 17 and I am one of the few people in my senior class that still has wisdom teeth. The wisdom teeth are crowning through my gums and it really hurts. I complained about it to my friend, and he was shocked and told me that they are supposed to be extracted before they grow in through the gums.

My parents swear that they need to grow in fully before they can be pulled. It kind of hurts when they are growing in, and I don't want to screw myself over by not getting them done in time.

When are wisdom teeth supposed to be pulled out?

I cut the roof of my mouth about 4 hours ago on a rather sharp boiled sweet and It hasnt stopped bleeding, its there anything I can do to stop it, i've tried filling my mouth with tissue but that just makes me gip!
This is a real question and not a joke, I just dont want to loose loads of blood- plus Ive had to swallow loads and now im feeling sick.

my jaw cracks a lot and it doesnt really hurt that bad but i dont know if its bad or anything...like my jaw feels all stiff and then i move it around and it cracks and it prob happens at least once everyday

Iam getting braces andd.......?
Ok iam getting braces and i have just 1 baby tooth left its kinda loose but not really can i tell my orthodontist to just not put a bracket on that one baby tooth and like brace the permanent teeth
