If you had to permanently lose either your tongue or your thumbs, which would it be and why?

As painful as it sounds my tongue. I'm sure people would miss tasting food, talking, and medical benefits of having a tongue. To me honest I couldn't live without my thumbs. I know they can transform your toes into thumbs but then I wouldn't have toes either. I tried doing things without using my thumbs. I couldn't write very well (I guess I could improve that by practicing). Come to think of it maybe I could live without my thumbs and keep my tongue. I know if I didn't have a tongue my future life partner would be happy.

My tongue. I can learn sign language if I still have my thumbs. I can't earn a living if I lose my thumbs.

Thumbs, it would be a nightmare just having an empty mouth. How would you eat and drink? You couldn't really go out again in public. Much prefer to lose the thumbs....

Hopefully, if something like either of those things happened, I would learn to adapt. It is definitely something I wouldn't want to choose.
Some good answers here already- lose the tongue, you can learn sign language, I like that one.
And the person that said you would lose the sense of taste, I wouldn't want to lose that. (love chocolate too much)

im an artist so i'd have to say tounge cuase i couldn't live if i cant draw
