It is not the recommended method to both clean and to whiten your teeth. If that is your specific needs, then all that you would need is a toothpaste with baking soda.
However, for the best overall toothpaste, which not only includes cleaning and whitening of your teeth, but for the overall health of your teeth, which includes both in fighting and the prevention of things such as Gingervitus, Cavaties, Plaque, and Tarter Buildup, then I highly recommend to you this new toothpaste by Crest, and it is called Pro-Health. By the way it is also a good breath freshener. This toothpaste costs a little more than the other kind, but it is certainly well worth it. Be sure, as well, to floss your teeth, in order to ensure maximum health benefits to your teeth, as flossing removes particles of food that are in between your teeth. As well, an electric tooth brush is superior to use, comparing it to your basic type. If you do, however, use your basic tooth brush, then be sure to brush your teeth UP AND DOWN, RATHER THAN ACROSS.

Lots of answers but some of it is not true.
Hydrogen peroxide bought over the counter is 3% solution. By mixing with half water, it can be used as a mouth rinse and disinfectant. And yes, it can whiten teeth since peroxide does "bleach" stains. No, it does not eat your teeth. It does not need to be carbamide peroxide which is used in expensive teeth whiteners. Hydrogen peroxide works as well as carbamide peroxide, the key is the length of exposure time.

Instructions: Start out by taking some baking soda & putting it on your toothbrush add a few droplets of peroxide. Brush your teeth as normal. Afterwards rinse your mouth with half solution of hydrogen peroxide.

Peroxide will clean and whiten the teeth. it also eats the enamel off and burns the gums. It is not advisable to use it undiluted.
