I'm having this done soon - and I am PETRIFIED! Not so much of the proceedure, but of the sedation. Are there any side effects from this medication? How do you feel afterwards.

Any dentists out there able to put my mind at rest?

Well the back or sides of my teeth touch on the top and bottom when I bite. I had braces and my teeth were very close to perfect, now I can not bite food with my front teeth because my teeth do not close all the way. Also I guess I tongue thrust when I swallow. I do not want to have mouth surgery, I saw a surgeon he said he could fix it, but can this be solved easily with braces, if so, how long?

i might have to get them removed, my dentist told me to see an ear and throat doctor, and he thinks I will get 20-30% more air through my throat, something like that?????????? Are there any benefits, or drawbacks of having them removed?

Ok, I haven't eaten any chips or anything hard that would poke my gums, but the place where my wisdom tooth used to be, is very swollen and painful. I got my wisdom teeth pulled about 6 years ago, so it was not recently. The area is not discolored, just swollen.

Is it possible to get an absess where there is no tooth? Should I try to wait this out or go to a dentist?

Hi for a few weeks now my tooth has been hurting at the back on the right hand side., Its a dull ache and i get slight twinzes in it. and it hurts when i press it. Does there need to be a gap for the tooth to come through, if not could it possbly be pushing my other tooth out. The tooth already has a filling in it.

I had a root canal at an Endodontist. I then went to my family dentist to have a crown put on. He took out the temp filling and instead of using the large space available for the post of the crown he drilled into the smallest root and drilled sideways and went through to the bone. My mouth started bleeding so he couldn't complete the crown. Blamed it on the Endo and sent me back there. The Endo had XRays showing his work, then took a new one and showed me what the other dentist did. He then repaired my tooth with a material to try and fuse to the bone. May or may not be successful. I called my dentist and told them I want a refund (Paid Cash for crown work) and he called back saying he did nothing to me and he will not refund my money and I am required to go back to finish the work. I now have a half prepped molar and a very loose temp filling. Don't want to go back to this guy who has my $1100.

What are my legal rights here??

the dentist suggested she get it extracted that would be the cheapest way to go, wouldn't that be bad for her because it would start shifting her other teeth? Also, couldn't they still save it by doing a root canal and/or crown? Kinda confused on how all that works.

I'm 25 and just recently my 2 front bottom teeth shifted. Just the tiniest bit...but it's driving me insane! I was blessed with perfectly straight teeth, so this new (small) gap is not going over too well. Has this happened to you? Is this a normal thing at my age?

My dentist doesn't yet know why, but for months, I've been having gum pain behind my second molar in the upper left part of my mouth. He gave me Tetracycline along with a refill in case it was a gum infection. But, it didn't help. Xrays don't show anything wrong with the tooth or anywhere around the area. It just feels like the nerve behind my tooth is being very irritated. I asked him if it could be caused by sucking on Peppermints. He said it might be, and that I should lay off them for two weeks. In the meantime, Extra-strength Excedrin is taking the edge off the pain which is always there, but worse if pressure is applied to the gum, by eating food or pressing with a finger. Could it be that the nerve behind the tooth is thinking of dying, for whatever reason? He said something about putting a crown on the tooth, but I don't understand how that could help. Are there are dental professionals out there who could help shed some light on this six-month problem?

Hey Yahooligans. I have already done a root canal, but not here in Canada, it was in Saudia Arabia. It was really PAINFUL! I had bad experience. After that root canal, I have always been scared of the dentist because of the pain i felt during that root canal. By the way I did get needles in my mouth so i get numb, but i still felt pain.
Now i need at least 2 or 3 root canals, but im really scared to go to the dentist. the dentist gave me two options, get me numb or put me asleep during root canal. i would wanna be put asleep but what if i feel pain?
