So I'm having one of my wisdom teeth pulled out in a few weeks, and I am very apprehensive.....it has to come out because it has a cavity in it, and I can only afford to have this one pulled. So can anyone give me any words of encouragement? I could really use it. What if I wake up while they are pulling??? AAAHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Am working in the area but will be leaving at the end of the month. Have a toothache that will require either filling or extraction, and won't be able to return to my home dentist soon enough to deal with this. Any recommendations?

I have no idea. Do you know what it is? I don't really want to go to the doctor yet , it doesn't seem that big of a problem but if it doesn't go away until a long time then Ill go I just want an idea of what it is.

While eating a few days ago, I chomped down VERY hardly on my tongue ring with my right molars. I've done this on accident several times, but never so hard and never with pain - just a suprise. Now the two teeth (but especially the bottom one) are very heat/air/pressure sensitive in the spots where I bit the metal ball. I can't chew on that side, have cold or hot liquids pass over those teeth, or wind. What should I do?
I just moved out of state for college, so seeing a dentist immediately isn't possible.

Xray showed infections milimeters below the root and the root canal never reached down that far... So now I have to have oral surgery to go down under the root canal and treat it like that.. Has anyone out there had to go thru this and do you know anything about it.? Right now I am on antibotics before my procedure next week..Thanks

When I received my kit a month ago, they told me about all sorts of awful things it might do to my teeth and/or gums... interesting that they chose to divulge this information AFTER i had paid my $500 and had the impressions taken of my teeth, blah blah blah. Anyway, so now I've been avoiding actually doing the bleaching, out of fear of damage/pain, and/or doing it wrong (and thus increasing damage/pain). Anyone had any problems? Also, if you did it overnight, did it cause problems like gagging or drooling?

Any tips appreciated... thanks!

Well, I was at school today, and it was my last baby tooth (I don't force them out), and I was eating a sucker, and I bit it, then my tooth cracked in half. I don't want to pay to go to a dentist, so does anyone have any tips on how to remove it without hurting too much?
P.S. It's really loose anyway.

You enter the room where a dental nurse swiftly settles you into the `chair`. The dentist enters and before you can say Jo Bloggs he`s crammed just about every dental instrument he has at hand into your mouth. Then the real torture starts as you try garbling out replies to his never ending onslaught! I don`t know about the rest of the world but I really would like to explain any problems or wishes I have while I`m still capable.

Has anyone with dentures ever badly bit their tongue while eating, and then proceeded in anger to pull them out and hurl them madly across the room?
Because ...that's what I would do.

We visited a new dentist. The dentist was awful. However, the dentist took a complete set of xrays for both of us. We have found a new dentist (who is excellent!), but the former dentist will not allow us to have the xrays. They will loan the originals to our new dentist, but only if the new dentist agrees to return them promptly. We do not want to pay $25 to duplicate the originals because a) we've already paid for the x-rays and b) the duplicates are not as good as the originals and c) the new dentist wants to work with the originals. Do we have a legal right to possessing our xrays and related dental records? If not, can't we at least require the dentist to release the xrays (not just loan them) to our new dentist?
