Dr. Criag Smith in Atlanta yrs ago gave me a root canal and crown.I now have major infections because the crown was not secure. My problem, I have a whole in my Jaw Bone. I work for myself and cannot afford the sugery. I reached out to him and he was very cold and not helpful. He no longer works at the location were the procedure was done. The dentist office(original location) gave me the vibe that he was ask to leave and they were more than helpful to me finding his new location. I don't want this to happen to another patient.

dentist is out of town-it doesn't hurt but feels weird, as if there is something stuck between my teeth, but it isn't food, it is actually a part of my gum tissue dangling. Could someone explain what is going on, how this happened and what I can do about it?

After two years of wearing a partial front upper, with a metal roof, I am soo happy to be able to throw this thing out very soon.. On this Thursday, (I had an impression made almost two weeks ago), I will go and get my fixed/permanent bridge? Or will it be one that is just a temporary?
Also, I will be getting several crowns up top, to make it all look nice, but THAT is what I am scared of... they sand down your own teeth to almost nothing, I am told, and then put the crown/cap over it.. Anyone have any of this done? How was it? Dentist says it will take three visits. On Thursday, he says I will be there about two hours. Any comments or advice would be greatly appeciated!

Root canal? I have a bad tooth and it hurts when I brush it. I am going to the dentist for it. I am afraid they will tell me I need one. I am so afraid of the dentist.

How do you handle inventory and ordering in your dental office? This is an odd way to have a discussion (and it cost me ten points - haha), but maybe we could all benefit from comparing notes.

The dentist said that the cavity was big and that I should get my tooth crowned. Before he filled the tooth, my tooth did not bother me.

Do you ever get just overwhelmed at work? Or am I just really overworked? There are times when I just can not seem to get stuff done. In my office we have 3 assistant, but only 2 of us are expanded and we are depended on for everything. Besides assisting on normal everyday patients, I do all the implant and surgery cases, order the supplies, and do half of all the large reconstruction cases. It seems like there is never enough time to get all the instruments done, clean the rooms, send out lab cases, chart in the patients charts, or any of the other stuff I am suppose to do. My dentist realizes that we are over worked and has tried to cut down, but he has a hard time turning people away, and he is one of the most popular dentists in town. When patients arive the front desk puts their charts in a bin, and the other day I was right in the middle of trying to catch up on instuments when one went in the bin, and without thinking I said very loudly "SH-T!!!" Am I the only assistant stressed?
