yes its the sugar that is in soda that causes weight gain and its not only one kind its lots sometimes read the can its a nightmare all those chemicals. i love coke i drink it all the time i know it has lots of sugar in it and caffine which stimulates the appitite. soda also makes you want to eat the makeup of soda has properties in it that make you want to eat. and the brain will play tricks with you like when i say what goes with cookies you would think milk how about a hamburger a shake so you drink soda then you want chips etc etc its the chemicals in sodas that make your weight increase.

If you switch to diet, the acidic quality of the drink can still have a detrimental effect on your enamel.
Also, soft drink have a huge impact on your hydration, so if you drink a lot of soda, you have to drink even more water!

Your teeth can be stained if you drink them regularly. Most people think that they cause no harm but if they have alot of coloring, caffeine and sugar they can mess up your liver and later on in life provoke diabetes...it happened to my father.
