go back to the dentist you have some sort of infection, also rinse your mouth with warm salt water, and rinse with hydrogen peroxide, both of those will help fight the infection, but GO SEE THE DENTIST TOO.

hey I ran into this same problem and what I was told is parts of the tooth may have not been totally remove but they will work their way up to the surface and out. Mine continued for about 6 months (no kidding here) My surgeon said sometimes it takes as much as a year I know you don't want to hear this but that is the way it is. If your in pain go back to who pulled the tooth and they will reexamine the gum just to be on the safe side.It shouldn't cost you any money due to the fact that it could easily be a serious problem so cantact your dentist just in case plus if it is infected your going to definitely need antibiotics so it doesn't get into your blood stream which is a possibility better to be safe now then sorry later good luck I know it isn't much fun been there done that!

Depends, what does the stuff coming out look and feel like? Is it hard and white, if so, thats bits of bone that were broken during the extraction, and nothing to worry about. The body is rejecting them, really don't worry. Just try and not swallow them. If it is soft material coming out of there, call your dentist. It could be infected of have food impacted in the socket. Either way you may feel better giving the dentist a call. I hope it clears up for you soon. Try rinsing with some warm salt water, that usually helps.

I knew a girl who's gums were swollen for about two and a half months.

You might want to go to your actual doctor. Chances are you have an infection. You'll get some antibiotic tablets.

You might want to try using some Listerine. The alcohol free stuff.

When I have a gum infection, I fill my mouth with it and I roam around the house, doing minor chores for maybe 10 minutes. Then spit and go about my life. Usually clears up in a few days.

I don't know what you mean when you say "stuff" comes out. Pus? Bone chips? Food?

If it is hurting, swollen, and you're getting pus or something that smells/tastes nasty out of them...then you need to have it checked out. It could be infected, and if so you'll need antibiotics. Call your oral surgeon or your regular doctor.

It's not uncommon to have bone chips work their way to the surface for many months (even years) after you've had your wisdom teeth extracted.

if you didn't rinse the hole where the tooth was you could have gotten food lodged in there and it is infected. Go back to dentist and have him check it out
