Does anyone actually floss everyday? I do but I think I'm in the minority.

I'm almost 24 and I guess I can't say anymore that I've never had a cavity...because I have a few small ones that I need to get fillings for. I'm gettting composite fillings tomorrow (3 I believe) at 9a. I then have a bridal shower at 1:30, where I plan on eating...and I guess I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to or not. I don't really know what the "drill" is (get it? drill? lol) with eating before and after getting fillings (and I need new sealants shortly thereafter, and I can't remember that either).

Will I be able to eat and enjoy myself? Will I still be numb? Will the fillings need time to harden or anything? I guess I just want to know what to expect...so I know if I should seriously mow down before to hold me over if I can't eat for a while (I'm a constant grazer...).

Any info would be helpful. Help to calm my nerves...

I had braces put on my teeth this afternoon and during all of the do this/don't do that lecture they warned me not to drink any carbonated beverages at all. The problem is I'm addicted to caffeine (I don't drink coffee) and I need my Pepsi! What happens when you continue to drink soda while wearing braces? Does it really leave behind stains or ruin the cement? Is it okay to drink a little soda with a straw and then brush immediately after?

My son is 3, and I took him to a dentist and they would not let me go back with him. Needless to say, I left and found a different dentist. Is this legal? It was just for a cleaning and checkup, and it was his first time. But they don't allow parents out of the waiting area for any reason.

I am thirteen, and just had my braces off, and my orthadontist has told us that my wisdom teeth are coming in crooked and will push the rest of my teeth forward and make them crooked again if I don't remove them. He wants them out as soon as possible... I am very worried, my mother had hers out in college and I've read that most people have them removed at ages 17-24. Do they put you to sleep? Or numb you? Can anything wrong happen if you are put to sleep?

I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed next week and I'm scared to death. My original appointment was yesterday but we had to change it for certain reasons. I don't like the new appointment because I only have 3 days free after that before school starts. I was told my wisdom teeth are at the development normal of a 14-17 year old because the roots of the teeth are not fully formed. Do you think I will be okay to go back to school? Or will I probably have puffy cheeks? Anyone care to share your experince?

anyone used the whitening system that comes with the gel and blue light to whiten teeth. how much did u spend and did it work like they say it does. If anyone could recommend a good whitening system that can be used at home and something taht really works. please share your thoughts !! thx

I had been bulimic for years when I was 15yrs. old to about 24 yrs. old, i am now 31 and the acid from making myself throw-up for years had eaten away at my teeth enamel, making them literally break off in pieces, thankfully they are my back teeth and you can't see them! i don't mean to give gross details, but they have gagged edges of course, and when I do go under the general anethesia I know they will ask if I have loose teeth. They are not loose, but of course they will look disgusting to the anesthesiologist! Thank god I'll be getting them fixed in a month!Anyway, my question is Will they still preform the procedure as normal or will they have to administer air a different way? I don't know how they would go about that.

what happened is that after having zoom whitening i had painful sensitivity all day and the next day i had an anxiety attack, this was last week, and the dentist gave me a home zoom kit for retouch and i used it the day before yesterday and also got painfull sensitivity and yesterday i had another anxiety AND panic attack can it be related? i spoke to my dentist and she told me she never heard of that before but i'm scared to use the retouch kit again.

i'm 14 i hane NEVER been to the dentist my mom and dad basicly refuse to take me to the dentist or even for physicals and checkups and crap like that // i really need to go to the dentist before school starts up but there in alalbama and i'm in nc its covered by tricare but the don't seem to care. I have a receding gum line and i really would like to prevent &build it back up. At the advice of a dental hygenist, I have switched toothpastes from colgate tartar control to colgate total. I have braces right now, and I can't floss regularly because it is so hard to. Between three of my brackets, there seems to be a strange builld up of gum that has suddenly appeared. Please help me! I really don't want to get a skin graft or surgery of any kind!!!!

i need braces...and before school...and for a very cheap cost but they cannot be bad braces just cuz their cheap and our insurance is not gonna cover it!! and i really need them, do u know where i can get braces for a cheap amount of money, around the areas of york, mechanicsburg,hummelstown,harrisburg, hershey or newport or new bloomfield of pennsylvania!!??? She is crankey,cries at the drop of a hat, runny nose, chewing on her fingers, or anything that she can get in her mouth. I've tried giving her tylonal and using oralgel, but that only leads to a bigger tantrum. I want to relieve her pain, but don't know what else to do. She won't let me use ice on her gums, and won't allow herself to be comforted and just sits there and cries.
