Best thing to do is take some tylenol or ibuprofen. Unfortunately when the teeth are straining against the ligaments they can really hurt, especially if you just had them adjusted. Maybe something cold to drink too. Hang in there, it's totallly worth it!

Tylenol or Advil every time you are scheduled for an adjustment. Take some before the appointment, to get it in your system, and you'll probably need it for two to three days after the adjustment. It shouldn't require more than that.

I would take Advil before & after the adjustment and wax the braces. And always had baby teething gel with me to numb the pain. And then dream about how beautiful my smile was going to be. And it is. :-)

Check with your dentist before doing anything about the pain. They may just need an adjustment.
Then, drugstore...."Benzodent"....it is a dental pain relieving cream, and comes in a small tube like tooth paste. Keep it away from your tongue...it will numb everything it touches.

Advil or Aleve works best. It should stop hurting about a week after you get them tightened

Ibuprofen is an over the counter pain reliever/anti-inflammatory. That's your best bet. I had 'em in high school, and you just have to grin and bear it. Sorry

i know they suck don't they! i hated my braces. everyone is like, your lucky you can afford it, but they will be a very painful time in your life, and like they said, your best bet is tylenol. usually after i get them tightened i don't eat, it hurts too much.
