She is crankey, cries at the drop of a hat, runny nose, chewing on her fingers, or anything that she can get in her mouth. I've tried giving her tylonal and using oralgel, but that only leads to a bigger tantrum. I want to relieve her pain, but don't know what else to do. She won't let me use ice on her gums, and won't allow herself to be comforted and just sits there and cries.

I'd suggest using water teething rings. You can find them at most baby stores or department stores. They fill with water, and then you put them in the refridgerator. They get cold, and then you give them to your little girl to chew on. It'll feel nice on her teeth, like icing, and allows her to chew for relief.

Try using those popsicles that come in the plastic wrap. We would take a small piece of the popsicle out, drop in a few drops of Tylenol or Motrin, put the popsicle piece back in, and re-freeze. My daughter never knew.

My doctor also said we could give her a small amount of Benadryl at bedtime. It would help relieve those swollen gums and help her rest all night. BUT, you should check with your doctor about the correct amount to use. This was just a very small amount, but it did help.

Oralgel didnt work? Really? Very surprising. Did you try those teethers that you put in the fridge? Or if you want to go the medicine route try motrin. Always worked for for nieces and nephews. If that doesnt work, just give her alot of TLC!
Good luck!

Try a teething toy that can be put in the fridge not the freezer as the freezer can cause your baby to actually get freezer burn. also try giving her a cool wash cloth to chew on. some times letting her chew on the washcloth might help her and comfort her

My son hated everything we gave him for his teeth, that is until we found the "magic pill." I'm note sure the name, but the only places we have been able to find them are at CVS Pharmacy and Albertsons. They are teething tablets. You put them in their mouth, and they immediatly begin to dissolve numbing the gums. My son LOVES them. They are found right next to the Orajel and other teething remedies. I believe they have a pink and blue label. We actual saw an ad for them in Parenting magazine - they are just hard to find. Try CVS if you have one near by.

Children's Tylenol or some type of pain reliever. Topicals wash off with saliva anyway. Good Luck!

Popsicles and those chewy teething rings. Check with your Doctor about a little Tylenol.

Popsicles. And use Tylenol at bedtime despite the tantrum.

Motrin works better for teething and ear ache pain. Try giving her a freeze pop. It works best to cut it in half and give her half at a time.
