If there is a dental school near you, you can get dental treatment there, such as braces. Check your local universities. Usually the treatment is free or very cheap. If you go to an orthodontist because they are a specialist it will be expensive and it is cosmetic, there are virtually no insurances that will cover orthodontic treatment.

Try to make your parents understand that your teeth are very important. Braces aren't cheap and you don't have to have dental insurance to get braces. All orthodontists will work out a monthly payment plan. Good luck and check out those websites like someone else suggested.

I had Dr.Bailey as an orthadontist. I was in the same situation as you my insurance wouldn't cover my braces. They said that my teeth were a cosmetic problem. My braces cost 175.00 a month for 14 months.

I don't know if you're going to find braces for cheap anywhere...They're pretty expensive, and the price depends on each individual dentist.
