I am on Novorapid and Levimir and I am finding these too erratic. Either there is a very long delay in reducing sugar levels in my blood, and then there is a crash, or other days I am crashing four or five times a day. I have no warning. One minute I can be fine, next minute nearly passing out at 1.4!

When I asked the nurse (doctor is rarely there) she just says, well, you might be allergic to animal insulin! I was put on the "human insulin" almost 6 months after my diagnosis and have had trouble with it ever since, but there is nothing "human" about it.

Discussed it with pharmasist again and again who says it should not continue like this and that I should talk to GP/Nurse/Consultant, but none will talk about it.

I feel like giving up insulin altogether, but having done that in the past I know the consequences!

People say that you should take multi-vitamins if you are on a diet. But what if I already eat a lot of vegetables and fruits and a decent amount of meat? Would I still need to take multi-vitamins? I eat A LOT of fruit, so I'm afraid that I will have an overdose of vitamins if I take a multivitamin.

Thanks!

I went into my ortho Dr.'s office with complaints in my left ankle when I first wake up & going up hills with swelling involved near my old ankle stabilization scar from 2001. The MRI showed "a spur projecting off the anterior article surface of the tibia, with some associated marrow edema. Findings consistent with anterior impingement, no evidence of associated edema involving the talus, or associated joint body". "Ligaments: Marked thickening & irregular of the anterior talofibular ligament, the talar as well as the fibular attachments now remain intact, small joint effusion present." Extensor & flexor long tendons all appear intact, no evidence of tendonitis, tenosynovitis or a tendon tear".
So, this doesn't seem that bad to the untrained eye, why does my Dr. want to drill a hole in my bone & loop my tendon through it? I have a second opinion scheduled for tomorrow, but I would like to be knowledgeable when talking to the new Dr., we are talking about crutches for 2 months.

I always eat whole wheat multi-grain bread slices. But what brand should I buy? The kind at the common grocery store.

At this time of year my daughter always takes such a bad cough and cold, but I hate giving her medication every four hours (ie paracetamol and cough medicine), so I was just wondering if there was anything more natural that I could use. Her temperature is always very high and she coughs so bad that she makes herself sick, I have been to the doctors in the past and all they offer me is more paracetamol, more cough bottle and anti-biotics if it goes on too long. Thanks in advance for any help.

Okay, so I broke my pelvis about 4 weeks ago in an accident,
and at first i didn't know (maybe because of the painkillers) but
now I have both chronic and acute pain in my foot (only left foot)
It's the typical burning feeling, pins and needles pain, acute pain
occurs when i change position(i.e get up, sit up, etc etc)
despite my left leg being colder than my right leg by a noticeable amount, 2 doctors i've visited ruled it out as pinched nerve as there are nerves running to the foot where my pelvis fracture is.

The question now is, how should i treat this? ice my back by pelvis area? or my foot area? i heard some people say use warm water?

thanks a lot in advance

Knowing your son was sick since Thurs. and having to be picked up from school because of a high fever, and then developed spots on their face, then bring him to a party with at least 25 people, elderly and children, only to find out from a Dr. who was there that this child had chicken pox???
My sister in law did this and now what the heck is going to happen? He came in contact with everyone!

One of my son's had it, at the age of 4, my other had the vacination, I had it when I was small, and so did hubby.
Can we still get it?

Knowing your child was sick and still sick with a fever, would you have still done this?

When my kids are sick, we hear hell from my inlaws if we bring them anywhere close to them. Oh, but it's ok for her kids to be around others.

I am a 21 year old woman. I shower twice daily and I always spray a little Victoria's Secret on to smell fresh. But it seems like no matter what I do, I always have a slight vaginal odor. I do not have an STD. Yes I have been to the Gyno and it is confirmed that I do not have any infections. What is the deal?

Lice is going rampant through out both of my daughters' school.
So far we have been lucky and they have not contracted lice. Obviously, I would like to keep it that way.
Is there anything I can mix with their shampoo or spray in their hair that lice don't like? Please only suggest natural products that I have at home or can buy at the store.
I know that there is a line of shampoo products that claim to prevent lice but, I'm not paying $50 for a bottle of shampoo.
So, does anyone know of something cheap and common I could use instead?
Thank you and Merry Christmas!

We Asians have smaller skeletal frame and it has been confirmed by WHO that a shorter Asian has the same body fat percentage as a taller Causasian counterpart.

An Asian with BMI 27.5 and above is obese, while a Causasian is obese only with BMI of 30 and above.

I am an Asian BMI 20. and I am healthy too. A healthy BMI is an indication of healthy weight, but it does not necessarily mean the person is healthy. So it is important to check your health with your doctors.
