Hello there. For the past 9-10 years, I have had a thick mucus buildup in my throat. I have gone to my doctor multiple times to diagnose it, and he always tells me that it is due to dry air. I turn my heaters down or rarely use them, and I leave my windows open. Even though I did this, the problem still persisted. I found out later, that when I drink whole milk the mucus build up increases, so I switched to fat free milk/skim milk, but the mucus problem still persisted. When I am at home, the mucus problem is at its worse, but when I am somewhere else, it does not even come up. There has not been a day where I have not coughed up mucus. My doctors tell me the same thing each time I visit them and prescribe the same medicine, but it does not help. When I run, I feel the same thing. My nose is also clogged with mucus, and when I blow it out there is sometimes blood in it. (I do not pick my nose.) Please help, I am tired of this affecting me,it is affecting my breathing. I do not smoke.

I am a gymnast, and my pratices are 3 days a week from 5-8:30. I never know what to eat before that will give me enough energy for the entire practice, so I often end up either eating too much and feeling sick, or not eating enough and feeling weak. We do get a snack break in the middle of practice, but I don't really like eating then because then I dont have enough time to digest it before I start working out again and I feel sick. Does anyone have any good snacks I could eat before gymnastics and about how early I should eat them before the practice starts so I have enough time to digest?

My boyfriend has just found out that he is over 300lbs. He wants to take martial arts classes with me which I think is great but I seriously doubt his body and heart are ready for that sort of high impact excersise. What can we do to ease him into it?

I have a few questions about insurance and prescriptions. 1) When you fill a prescription, does it show up elsewhere what exactly you filled? I am still a full time student so I am still on my parents insurance...even though I am 23 years old, I don’t have a full time job while I am in grad school. I don’t mind my mother knowing hat I have genital warts but I don’t want her to worry (she knows I had an abnormal pap and that really stressed her out) So if I were to fill the prescription for Aldara, would she be able to see that? 2) How much does this medication run for? I know it varies by insurance plans but on average...how much is it? How much is it without insurance? Thank you all for your answers in advance and please no rude immature comments.

My son is three years old, and he's had his cough for three weeks now. It's a productive cough which means it's producing phlem and mucous. I've had mixed advice about giving him "milk" while he still has his cough. One parent says Not to because it will cause the phlem and mucous worse, and one parents says it's ok that the milk will cause some phlem but not to worry about it causing the cough worse. What have you heard about this? Or what is your experience on this? Any help/advice/suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

When I was just a few months old I had a horrible case of thrush that no medicine would get rid of. Finally someone told my mom about this lady that could cure thrush naturally. Desperate, my mom took me to her. She wasn't Indian or tribal or anything like that, she was a very sweet older lady that lived in the country (we are from Alabama). Anywho, mom said she just picked me up and walked in the other room and came right back out a few seconds later. The next day the thrush dried up and fell out of my mouth. I got thrush again a few months later and mom called her. She said she could do it this time over the phone so mom held the phone to my ear and the next day it dried up again. This story has always interested me and freaked me out a little. I want to know what exactly she did to me (chant, blow in my mouth, etc?). Mom said something about her being a seventh daughter? What does this mean and where does it come from-is it religious at all?

My leg is weird. I'm talking about the backside of my knee on my left leg. You know how in the middle/ towards the inside of the leg, there is some sort of lump? It's a vein or artery or something. Whenever I am in health and we're talking about bones and ligaments breaking, when I see blood, and last week watching Grey's Anatomy, it feels funny. Almost hurting. I have to move it slightly up and down when it does that. What is wrong with me? Is it normal?

I know that this sounds odd, I have a regular period, but the final days of the spotting brown are longer than the period. It really annoys me because I can't get on with my sexlife. It's a pain in the neck and I was wondering if theres anything you can do to get rid of this annoying phase a bit quicker? From start to finish I'm out of it for about 12 days! I'm not on the pill and can't be, perhaps exercising or douching or something?

I was travel sick last year which was triggered by food poisoning. I thought I had recovered from it, but now it's come back. After an office relocation, I'm now working 30 miles from where I live and I have to get a lift in from a friend every day. Mornings generally aren't too bad but the evening journey home I've felt terrible on many occasions. I find myself taking off the seatbelt and undoing my belt to try and get relief, it's really that bad. I can't get out of the car fast enough when I finally arrive home!

I'm so afraid of throwing up in my friend's car it's made me think twice about going to work several times. I almost vomited on two occasions, and it makes me feel ill just thinking about that journey. I've recently even lost my appetite and wake up feeling sick.

There aren't any buses, and I don't drive. I don't want to be taking medication daily unless I have to, so does anyone have any suggestions? I will be leaving soon, so that's some good news at least! Thanks!

I was just diagnosed with degenerative disk disease, route nerve impingement, and arthritis in my back and I am in a significant amount of pain. The doctor gave me Motrin 600. It does nothing for my pain. He didn't give me any advice on how I can help my back. I tried to go to Urgent care and they turned me away. What do I do and why don't they care?

Please star this question. I need as many answers as i can get to motivate me.

Here is my schedule. Is there really any time in there for me to work out? I need suggestions.

5am-730 - wake up , get ready for work, feed and change newborn, wake up 1st grader, wait on mom to come get baby, take 1st grader to school.
730-800 - drive to work
800-430 - working at a sit down job with 2 15 min breaks and a 30 min lunch. I try to eat weight watcher dinners for lunch but on my breaks I sometimes eat out of the snack machine. (Yes i know i need to quit)
430-500 - drive home
500-530 wind down, talk to 1st grader about school, play with the baby and talk to hubby about day.
530-630 cook and eat ... give or take a few minutes
630-700 feed newborn
700-800 watch a little tv or start to watch a movie we got from Netflix or Blockbuster online
800-900 while watching that movie or tv show, feed baby again (bed time bottle)
900-930 put baby to bed, get 1st grader to bed. go to bed

Other than the redness and crust, I have no other symptoms of pinkeye but was wondering if I still had it. I dont think I have pus (If I did, I didn't notice it), and my eye feels perfectly normal. It doesn't itch or feel irritated at all, and I was wondering if it was possible that I just woke up with a really crusty eye. If you think I do have it, can you please let me know the best way to cure it on my own without prescriptions or antibiotics? Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it!
