Other than the redness and crust, I have no other symptoms of pinkeye but was wondering if I still had it. I dont think I have pus (If I did, I didn't notice it), and my eye feels perfectly normal. It doesn't itch or feel irritated at all, and I was wondering if it was possible that I just woke up with a really crusty eye. If you think I do have it, can you please let me know the best way to cure it on my own without prescriptions or antibiotics? Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it!

I was going to ask, is it summertime where you live ..but no it's turnin chilly in Chicago... (good morning) ... I have other friends in Aledo illinois.

So, do you have a cat? Try bathing your eyes with witch hazel before going to bed. (and get another pillow to be on the safe side)

Yes, it's probably a crusty eye. Just wash it with warm water. If the itching starts, there is an over-the-counter remedy by Similisan, available in Walmart and the like. Or placing warm tea bags on the affected eye will help.

Pinkeye or conjunctiveitis as it is called, symptoms usually are constantly watering and irritated eye(s), build up of discharge mostly a whiteish or yellowish liquid, and sometimes your eye(s) will feel tender to touch. Pinkeye is highly contageous and does requier going to a doctor for a prescription of an antibiotic drop. Once you have the drops the infection clears up in about 4-5 days. What ever ya do always wash your hands and try to keep from touching your eye(s) again cause you'll risk keeping the infection going once the treatment has started with the drops, also clean anything you touch to keep the spread of infection down as well.

Pink Eye Crust

It does seem that you have pinkeye or conjunctivitis. This needs to be treated with antibiotic eye drops. Wash all your linen ( sheets, pillowcases, any small or toss pillows that you have used), wash your hands after touching the eye. This is contagious. Are you able to call your Doc and ask if they will call in a prescription for use. Tobramycin eye drops are usually prescribed for this. I hope that this helps.

Pink eye doesn't necessarily hurt it just itches like crazy, but anyway I think that you mostly do not have pink eye. You might be on the course of getting it.
