I was travel sick last year which was triggered by food poisoning. I thought I had recovered from it, but now it's come back. After an office relocation, I'm now working 30 miles from where I live and I have to get a lift in from a friend every day. Mornings generally aren't too bad but the evening journey home I've felt terrible on many occasions. I find myself taking off the seatbelt and undoing my belt to try and get relief, it's really that bad. I can't get out of the car fast enough when I finally arrive home!

I'm so afraid of throwing up in my friend's car it's made me think twice about going to work several times. I almost vomited on two occasions, and it makes me feel ill just thinking about that journey. I've recently even lost my appetite and wake up feeling sick.

There aren't any buses, and I don't drive. I don't want to be taking medication daily unless I have to, so does anyone have any suggestions? I will be leaving soon, so that's some good news at least! Thanks!

I used to suffer from CHRONIC car sickness...
Here's my advice:
Don't look out the side windows, only foward. Turn on the air conditions, or roll down the window.
Eat peppermint. Just suck a few altoids.
Eat ginger..You could drink some ginger tea if you like.
Snack. Eat some crackers on the way home.
Don't read or write while in the car.
With your thim, press right on your write. It's a pressure spot for car sickness. Hold it for a minute each, very gently.
Breathe in through your nose.

I get car sick. So here are a few things that have worked for me. 1. nibble on an apple. 2, drink ginger ale. 3. sip on water that has ginger (the spice) in it. 3. Take a nap. Hope something helps.

Also, sit in the front seat and look straight ahead. Turning around and doing things while the car is moving or going around corners only makes it worst.

there are over the counter pills you can take for motion sickness, just ask the pharmacist at cvs or walgreens.
It could be that there is a smell in the car that triggers your feeling of getting sick, maybe you are allergic to an air freshener,or possibly your drivers perfume or cologne.
Good luck !

I used to get like that when I was a kid. Motion sickness. Carry saltine crackers with you. I think it's the salt in them that stops the feeling of nausea. It helped me every time.
