I am a gymnast, and my pratices are 3 days a week from 5-8:30. I never know what to eat before that will give me enough energy for the entire practice, so I often end up either eating too much and feeling sick, or not eating enough and feeling weak. We do get a snack break in the middle of practice, but I don't really like eating then because then I dont have enough time to digest it before I start working out again and I feel sick. Does anyone have any good snacks I could eat before gymnastics and about how early I should eat them before the practice starts so I have enough time to digest?

Have an energy bar on your way there it has carbs and some have proteins and vitemins. For your snak during the practice try a bannana, it has potassium which is good for cramps and it gives ME energy. But before gymnastics try to eat a bowl a cereal and a slice of toast. (i know your practice is late but brekfast food is good to eat) or have a bowl of pasta.
Good Luck...hope this helps

DONT have a small glass of juice it normally is high in some sugars because its from fruit and that causes cramps so drink water two hours before a sport drink

Wow, this is a tough question!
It's tough because your practice is very long.
First off, I wouldn't have any milk or dairy products on the days you practice unless it's for breakfast or for dinner.
I'd stop eating by 3 pm or no later than 3:30 pm to give the food some time to digest before you train.
I wouldn't eat at all during practice, but I would drink plenty of water (not gatorade or anything like that)
Great question!

That's no longer what I might pass w/. Go with some thing healthful and top carbs to hold your vigour up! Eat the equal form of meals you mostly consume earlier than a difficult coaching consultation. Perhaps an vigour or proteing shake or a few oatmeal.

Eat a healthy sandwich an hour before practice with carriot & celery sticks. Don't have soda before practice only water, or a small glass of juice. =]
