i've heard a lot of things even on the news that an occasional beer or glass of wine can help prevent cancer. well i was in california and i saw a sign in a restaraunt that said something like "warning: alcoholic beverages may cause cancer". i was wondering which was true?

Scared to death to see or talk to a psychiatrist or even to call my dr. for a referral. I tried to ask my OBGYN if he could recommend one to me during my annual but clammed up & couldn't. I think I'm most scared of them thinking I'm a drug seeker (which I'm not at all!) I just want help but I am too scared. What should I do???

She says she was feeling pretty good yesterday. But today she woke up and she can hardly move due to the pain I think. The pain is around her stomach and she can't sleep or eat. Has a loss of appetite. She also feels weak. Any ideas what might be wrong? Thanks.

Im not saying all people but my brother has bi-polar and he has very shaky hands.

Its embarrassing to me because when were out in say a restraunt his hands will shake which makes the table shake and I don't want people to think we are crazy.

He can't get a job because of it either.

I am 21 and I had my ears pierced when I was about 5 so I don't think its a piercing infection. It just recently started and cleaning it doesn't help. When I wear any earrings it continuously leaks a clear to red/brown fluid and forms crusties. When I don't wear earrings, I get the crusties but they don't reform since the hole is not penetrated. Any idea what's wrong?

I am 18 years old. And in these short years I have been living I can never recall a time that I actually expressed my anger. I am a very nice guy, I do get angry but I never show it. I have never been in a fight when there were times I should have fought, there were times I have been called certain things, but I just kept quiet. I have been done wrong and used by so called friends, but never manned up and said anything about it. I dont even get along with my mother who basically raised me by herself, all we do is fight, I might fuss with her and try to get my point across but all she does is make me angrier, but I never express my true anger towards her. I dont know what to do, and I dont know what will happen if I keep holding things in. Help.

I bought a firm bed- which I like for the support BUT I would like a pad that would be comfortable (since I am a side sleeper). I already know that softer beds are best for side sleepers BUT my ideal bed would be the combination of the two (extremely firm support with a soft top layer). If you know about mattresses then you're probably thinking I should've gotten a firm with a PILLOWTOP. But as you know, pillowtops (which become flat over time) are the worst things. Its best to get something that is removeable. So that brings me to my question...which is the best mattress pad that I can use with my firm bed?

I am experiencing fecal matter that is a dark greenish color. It is not really visible in the basin but on the toilet paper, it is definitely a greenish pigment, it is dark and not pale and there is no blood in it. It is not black (caused by congealed blood). What is wrong?? i am worried!

I've suffered depression a couple of times in the past and couldn't take antidepressants as I was on Phenytoin at the time. I've now been weened of of that drug and onto Lamictal instead. I know St John's Wort can be bought over the counter so is it safe for me to take?

I am doing a law degree and I have recently moved house with my parents. I feel so empty and I thought I would love living away from the grotty town I used to live in, but I miss my friends. When I lived there I was happy. Now I am a wreck and cannot stop crying EVER even on the train to uni, I've lost my appetite and I cannot concentrate on my studies. I often wish I wasn't alive.
