If you have Aids and you stop having sex, Aids will still be in your system. If you are an alcoholic and you stop drinking, alcohol will no longer be in your system.

Besides that, most diseases have medication to treat the disease. What do you do to treat alcoholism, take medication? No, you stop drinking, that's how.

A word that is commonly found in the definition of disease is "involuntary". But when you drink alcohol, that is voluntary, not involuntary!

I also believe that many alcoholics will say that they have a disease because that takes some of the responsibility off them so they don't have to be responsible for their actions.

What do you think?

If a woman has breast implants doesn't it make it really hard for the scanner to pick up on any breast tumours? I used to work in a breast cancer unit and the scans from the women with implants were impossible to read because you couldn't see if there was a tumour there or not.

Do you think that (overall) this would mean that women with breast implants were more likely to die from breast cancer as it would be harder to diagnose?

I'm not a professional but I'd be interested to hear from anyone who is any knowledge of this?

thank you

I am really sick and in a lot of pain. when I got this bad a few month ago, my doctor perscribed me with Tylenol that has codeine in it. I never took it, because I hate drugs and whatnot and I know you can take codeine just for a high which I didn't want to happen.
Am I going to be really out of it if I take one? How does it feel? and what happens?

My hubby comes home from work everyday and drinks 2-3 glasses of wine a night. He says there is nothing wrong with it, and that Europeans do it, and it is just fine.

But I think he is ADHD, and uses the alcohol to relax. The doctor said he is too old to take ADHD medications, since most people his age have learned to cope with the nervousness. So he refuses to do anything.

His whole family is hyper and nervous, and going to their house is insane. His mom starts drinking wine at 4, but doesn't stop until 9. His grandmother is an alcoholic and nuts. His dad only drinks occasionally. The whole family grew up drinking with dinner, I believe.

Should I be worried about him? I do admit I come from a family that NEVER drinks so maybe I am overreacting? When does someone become an actual alcoholic?

Hi, well I just got a travel brush, and my dentist recommends that I use it at school, and I agree with him, I most definately do not want food stuck in my teeth.

But where can I brush them in a place, where people won't hear, they'll think I'm a freak!

I just want to have clean teeth...! I don't want any plaque marks or anything like that when they come off!

should i somehow not eat? anything, a sandwich, sends me soaring. when i inject prescribed insuline doses of 43u lantus at night and 12u humalog plain with meals. no help these days. very little anyway. i seem to be growing immune to insulin. i suspect the insulin on ignites my appetite. i cannot go to bed (3 a.m.) without a cheeseburger. i struggle with insomnia and hungar. any very serious input will be appreciated. this is no joke.

Do any of the groups studying different types of cancer or other diseases really want to find a cure? If they did, they'd all be out of jobs. Aren't they just trying to develop drugs to treat the symptoms?

a pedometer is a step counter you wear all day long. Can you really lose weight walking 10 000 steps a day? I mean, I walked over 6000 steps today just from around the house, grocery shopping, and walking my kid to school. I mean, if you aren't working up a sweat , then can you really lose weight. Approx. 2000 steps is a mile
