Yes, it drives me nuts...but not because I obsess. I am one of those naturally skinny girls, and believe me the grass is not greener on the other side. I wear a size zero and it is soooo frustrating to go shopping. Half of the time I bring something home and have to alter it just for it to fit properly. My best friend went from a size 13 to a zero in the course of a year and she looks TERRIBLE. She has a hot body because she works out like crazy, but she eats only 900 calories per day and smokes. Her skin is yellow & dull and her eyes are sunkin in. Everyone tells her she looks amazing, but I know the truth because I see her all the time. She needs to gain like 20 pounds and go back to her size 5 that looked amazing on her. STOP OBSESSING!! Eat healthy and exercise 3x per week...nothing more should be needed.

P.S. These days the medical field is more concerned about the world growing more and more obese in recent years. It's not really about skinny/thin being thrown in your face, it's about being healthy. So as long as you are healthy, who cares?? As you can see from my story about my best friend...you can be as beautiful as you want on the outside and still feel like **** on the inside because you aren't healthy.

the problem is largely in your head.

most girls obsess and there is nothing wrong with pressure to look good. people should.

however girls need to learn to separate the reality from the fantasy pressure they put on themselves when even a fit and skinny girl believes she is fat.

Proper nutriton works both ways, and one should not be attempting to lose weight in the wrong manner. it is actually not hard to eat properly however instead people listen to crap information and believe that less food = less weight.

that doesn't even work.

all it does is slow down your metabolism so more food will be stored as fat and your body will break down your muscle (made of protien) which in turn burns more calories and food.

If you want specific or further information or some general guidelines or good books to start with on proper nutrition information, please feel free to message me.

If you really are bothered, i suggest you buy some calipers and learn how to calculate your body fat % and the proper range for your age and activity level.

weight is an inaccurate number and it fluctuates more quickly based on many factors.

EDIT:

"for example....
today i ate... cereal, sandwich and two more sandwichs for dinner.
thats undereating.... yet i still feel huge"

actually I don't know if it is undereating. maybe you should focus more on eating quality nutritious food than the quantity.

obviously don't place an entire cow on your plate and eat it, but you should be focusing more on eating the right things.

It might help you feel better about yourself. Maybe you know too little about how to eat properly and nutritious so your mind is psyching itself out based on erroneous information and telling yourself you are "huge".

its not as much the quality as the quantity. take a 2000 calorie/day diet made of proper foods that have protien, healthy carbs (low glycemic loads foods) and good fats (poly and monounsaturated fat), rather than a diet of 1000 calories a day made up of junk food and candy. Which one do you think is going to be overweight?

I do! I hate the media I hate this society. I want to go back to the time when slightly chubby girls were "in". i am not anorexic but I am soo tired of obsessing over what i eat and how much I work out. No matter what other people tell me i think i am huge. It is also really hard fo rme to lose weight since I have long days at school.
I am forever depressed regarding my weight. Plus when you go shopping everything cute is like built for petite girls.
UGH!! I am just sick to death of the stupid models and stupid celebs who spend countless hours in teh gym with their goddamn instructors and then normal people end up looking like crap!

phew needed to get that out!

There is pressure and to be honest it really stinks. This world we have shows you so many varieties of food and makes it so easy to drive thru somewhere and get food, but yet then if your overweight by as much as 5 lbs you get looked at funny, ridiculed, taunted. It's really not fair. I've known ladies in the predicament your in where you feel big and believe me I bet you are gorgeous!!! A knockout even..... Just make sure your eating fruits and veggies in your daily meals as well or take a vitamin supplement. Good luck and remember your Beautiful!!!!!

Yes I have to agree. I had no idea that weightloss was an epidemic amoung young women. I have read and heard that some girls as young as six were dieting but I thought it was just a poor few until I came to yahoo and saw for myself just how terrible it really is. What have we done to our youth to at such a young age they are litterally "dying to be thin"? You people are the future of the world... that scares the hell out of me. You nsound like one of the smart ones. Someone that realizes that you need some help to get through this. I applaude you vigrously!! I hope more of these poor souls will read this post and fight for their lives. Then help others overcome this terrible unhealthy unempowering slow torturous death. Sometimes I get annoyed because I think they should know better but this is adeceptive disease and sometimes it's hard for people to recognize their own illness. Geat post!

I agree it is sad. What is even more upsetting is that most of the girls trying to lose weight are going about it the wrong ways. I think the best thing for you and these other girls to do is to educate youselves on dieting and healthy lifestyles, whether its asking questions on yahooanswers, talking to a nutritionist, or reading articles online.

Your questions indicates that you are having aconflict between a logical (Iam sick of Obsessing... I am a helathy weight) and an emotional (sometimes I want to disappear).
I would incourage you to talk to a trusted adult in or near your family, the school counselor, or your pastor.
Have one of them help your build a plan to bri8ng this mind body thing together.

what is your weight/height? i rarely ever compare my weight or body type to any other girl cuz no one has the same body type as me anyways so why bother. i guess i am happy wtih myself but on some days i overeat and i feel like one big fat humpty dumpty indeed! i hate caring but i think its good that women/girls care about their bodies, if they didn't care we would all look like slobs. don't beat yourself up over caring too much about your weight or body, but on the other hand i guess if you are spending so much time obsessing over it, maybe you should cut yourself some slack a bit, especialy if everyone else thinks u are attractive enough.

I'm sick of it too that's why I'm leaving Ed...(Eating Disorder)! There is so much else to life than worrying about your weight! Ignore those skinny girls-- i'm telling you, they will get problems down the road, like premature aging, rotting teeth (from throwing up if bulimic), osteoporosis, and infertility.

Love your body!

OMG i totally get how you feel. i just about drives me insane to see diet pill after weight loss programs after lipo options all the time and i wish everyone wasn't like that and just were them selves...but its pretty hard with everyone around you trying to fit you in this cookie cutter body and it just doesnt work. i know i'm not fat but sometimes i just feel extremely over weight.
