The worst part is getting the padding on the inside next to your skin wet. It starts itching, causes rashes, smells terrible too. Talk to your doc, he may want to recast it rather than letting you deal with the extra problems.

There's an easier way to avoid getting it wet all together- get a shower cast protector:

Haha, the stench will kill you. :o)
I cut mine off myself, because I couldn't stand the smell of it. Of course my Dr. was pretty well ticked off, but thankfully it was just about time for it to come off anyhow.
