I fell down the stairs and tried to catch myself thus pulling some muscles in my back. My upper back feels like someone is sitting behind me stabbing knives into it. Then the muscles in my chest start bothering me... defiantly not heart related! I just want some relief any ideas? Oh and I am already taking Motrin 800 for it and it don't help.

I was recently diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder. It's awful. Everyday feels like I have to go make a speech in front of the whole world...

Anyways, school started which has made it progressively worse. Even if my MIND isn't anxious, my body still is. Normal?
I'm always worrying if I have high blood pressure--normal side effect with anxiety. I just want it all to go away..I used to be so happy and carefree, and now all I do is worry. Any suggestions? I am seeing a therapist but it hasn't helped much..should I get medication to calm myself down?

I like to drink things, but I have to be careful with the sugar because I'm diabetic. I can have sugars, but not a ton... Thanks

I suffer mainly from anxiety disorder, social disorder and dermatillomania.
I work in a nightclub part-time and have difficulty commmunicating with my workmates. However, when it comes to asking favours I have always found it much easier to just not bother because I feel too embarassed. I do anything that needs doing myself. Now, when it comes to people asking me for favours I'll do it without question. But when you get people patronising you over a particular task, although done correctly to my knowledge of bar tending (since I was 18, I am 23 now), it makes me feel anxious.

A workmate points at till screen and says "use other till for now" (admin screen was on, so I thought my manager was using it!). so I do. then 5 minutes later I ask her if I'm now free to use it. She says "erm ya! don't you know that your meant to use the till you were allocated to"... I looked on stunned as that is what I was doing originally before she told me otherwise.

My stomach is hurting really bad. I'm wondering if it could be because i'm not having enough calcium, Because i recently became a vegatarien. So i'd like to know if you think that's why, and what i should do about it, and if it is because of lack of calcium what i should eat more, so that it doesn't happen again.

So I just can't stop sweating! I'm ALWAYS sweatin! I sweat a lot at gym along my hairline and on my hands and obviously at my armpits. Is this normal? And I've used a lot of different deoderants. The last one I've used is Secret Clinical Strength, but I still sweat...a lot. Even if I put on pounds of it, it still doesn't work! What can I do to stop this? I hate being so uncomfortable all day.

According to this article, from the APA, there is a new manual for determining mental illnesses, as well as therapies. For those who own a personal copy of the DSM-IV-TR, we realize that it is nothing more than a bible of mental disorders, written in a language many people can understand should they obtain access to this book (Hint: Amazon.com sells it). But, while it has been designed by a division of the APA, who insists it isn't in accordance with "APA policy", couldit be the replacement of the current book?

I not only want these patients and others to answer this question, but I am specifically targeting the psych students and "psych professionals".

What do you think of this possible change? How do you feel that what you know may be stomped on and trampled?

Oh, please, I have got to hear from you!

my baby sister has severe eczema that we are trying desperatley to control. we've had to use harsh topical products since she was really young, and are looking for alternative solutions. what do you suggest, and how effective is it?

more info, you don't need to read this:
we have also given her different vitamins and minerals and probiotic tablets.
ways we control her eczema include:
-using allergen free bed liners and febreze allergen reducer
-topical medicines, and aquafor, aveeno, eucerin
-neem powder (which called a miracle plant in india)
-flaxseed oil and olive oil for cooking
-specialty foods that are allergen free
-air purifier
-sanatizing most things around the home using steam

I'm in color guard and cheerleading and was stretching my leg in a leg stretch one day when I felt something tear. It felt fine, but the next day, I couldn't do anything anymore, not even the easiest of leg stretches, which is saying something because I am usually pretty flexible. It stopped hurting for about a weekend, but it's starting to hurt again. The pain feels like something is pulling...I can't really describe it. It's right where my thigh connects to my butt in the back. I have to do full leg stretches up to the split this coming Friday, so I need to know what I can do to at least lessen the pain. I've tried ice and icy hot, nothing has worked. I even rested it for a few days, but it just hurt worse. Any ideas? Oh, and after the few days when it got worse, I took care to do very simple stretches that I held for at least 30 sec, but it didn't even stretch the pain away, which is what I usually do for muscle injuries.

i'm 23 years old. it started when i was in college. i have pinpointed the pain to either my lower left wisdom tooth or my lower left molar. my wisdom teeth are partially grown in. i have never had problems with my teeth - besides braces. but the only time my teeth ever hurt is when i get my period. the pain starts on the first day of my period and lasts the duration of it... sometimes till a day or two after my period. what is causing this? am i the only weirdo that has teeth problems as a part of pms?
