im allergic to cats, i sneeze, get congestied and my eyes itch and water like crazy. as far as medicine goes, benadryl has always helped me the best. it clears up my sinuses and calms down the reaction. the only side effect, however, is that it makes me super drowsy and if it is later in the day i will fall asleep (as in, on the couch/in bed, not actually while doing something).

I used to be allergic to cats, so I never had any cats in our home...but I outgrew my allergy to cats and now I have 3 cats and a German Shepherd dog/part rottweiler that sheds more than our cats. My only suggestion is to either give your cat away or try taking echinacea, large doses of vitamin c, and or fenugreek which clears away any congestion you may have in your sinuses, and bronchial tubes. If you have SEVERE allergies to cats...Please GIVE your cat [if you have one] away to a nice home, because, when I had allergies to cats, I was visiting my daughter who had 2 cats and I had a severe asthma attack and if it wasn't for the fact that my daughter had an inhaler [which helped me breathe more easily] I would have had to call 911.

I read that bathing the cat each day helps remove the dander. The dander is what causes the allergy.

frankly speaking, cat is more fierce than dog, it is not a matter of allergies..the moment they just want to show their paw, it is a sign of warning...but this sign is too short to discover...the cat already swing its paw to you....if lucky..just small lines ...unlucky....few long lines....
There was a time, a cat tried to stop me to go out...just blocking my way while i walk down my home stairs. The way it shows its feeling is so wierd which i do not understand.....
Every step i moved, the more it get angry...in the end...very fast speed...I feel spicy and pain on my leg.....few long lines scratch appeared on my leg.......
To me....no cat allergies...but dislike and never wanted to keep it as a pet!!!
By the way...this wierd cat give birth in my room...it shows its baby to me....I never keep cat...it is only that time my maid secretly keep it.....I respect her interest..till i get wounded....
I immediately told her no more cat in house....not even a single cat foot print!!!
Compare dog and cat...cat easily form ganster friends outside....no jokes...they will invite friends to come to their living place, even all wild cats not allowed to enter the house, they will surely hang around....and the numbers getting bigger.....
Dogs will never do this!! probably hardly has chance to meet new friends.

Get rid of the cat.. People will almost kill themselves to keep their cats, when they obviously have an acute allergic reaction to cats dander.. I have a friend whom went out his way to keep his cat when it was killing him literally.. So bottom line, you health of the cat.. find some nice person that you know, and ask them will you take my cat..
