I'm in color guard and cheerleading and was stretching my leg in a leg stretch one day when I felt something tear. It felt fine, but the next day, I couldn't do anything anymore, not even the easiest of leg stretches, which is saying something because I am usually pretty flexible. It stopped hurting for about a weekend, but it's starting to hurt again. The pain feels like something is pulling...I can't really describe it. It's right where my thigh connects to my butt in the back. I have to do full leg stretches up to the split this coming Friday, so I need to know what I can do to at least lessen the pain. I've tried ice and icy hot, nothing has worked. I even rested it for a few days, but it just hurt worse. Any ideas? Oh, and after the few days when it got worse, I took care to do very simple stretches that I held for at least 30 sec, but it didn't even stretch the pain away, which is what I usually do for muscle injuries.

you probably pulled something which unfortunately means you should be resting it and not stretching it. You should be icing it for sure, and taking ibuprofen for inflammation. Rest it for a week or two, if the pain doesn't seem to be subsiding then I'd consult a doctor. Take it easy, and always remember to warm up really good before any activity to prevent any more injury for yourself. Good luck

If you were just stretching, it's probably just a pull or strain. I did the same thing in college. Try applying heat to it (heating pad or hot tub) for 15-20 minutes, then try streching again. But stay away from any kind of exercise on it for a few days. Let it rest.
If it still hurts after that, head to your team physician and them them. You don't want to push it and make it worse.

I think you've got an injury that isn't going to be ready for this coming Friday. You need to see an orthopedic surgeon, ASAP. This is not a minor injury. Torn tendons take weeks/months to repair, and I'd bet my bottom dollar that's what you've done.

there isnt that much to do really. you tore some of the muscle, and what is probably hurting you is the scar tissue that has built up from you trying to stretch it after hurting. it. you might want to actually have it looked at

Under work your leg.Make it LOOK effortless.Make it appear smooth.Until you have trained it away.Never force it.Just go extra slow for a month or longer.
