If a diabetic has cellulitis and it is not treated with antibiotics, what will happen to that person if he is not treated? My uncle has this and he's been a diabetic since 1995. His feet and legs are beat red as if he was either severely sunburned or in contact with scalding hot water and very swollen. He has fevers ranging from 99.9 to 103 (low grade)and he has the chills. He complains that his skin hurts and is very tender to the touch. He refuses to go to the doctor about this problem. Could his condition eventually kill him if not treated? He is 77 yrs old and is heavy set and smokes cigarrettes and isn't very active due to other health problems. Serious answers only please...thank you.

I've been having cramps after my period, appetite moods, tender breasts and head aches.
I'm really worried!!!

I feel suicidal, depressed, & stressed out because no one cares about me, & I have all these problems, & no one to turn to for support, except for 1 person. No one cares about my struggles, I'm always being excluded from social activities for being TOO NICE & HELPFUL, everytime I do a good deed for someone, society makes it out of a wrong-doing. People make it like I don't have a right to live, sleep, eat, & breathe. If I go buy cereal & milk for breakfast, people get in my business, saying I'm spending my $$ irresponsibly, & then when I eat it, people call me fat & greedy.

But when I make suicidal threats, people want to have me mentally hospitalized. I'm tired of being taken advantage of & treated like a dog by family & society & being stabbed in the back. I feel sad every day. My boyfriend even acts like he's bored when I tell him what I'm going through. With other people, when I tell them about my symptoms of my mental illnesses, they say I'm making up excuses, which I'm not.

I just want to disappear. Go away forever. I sleep a lot. Nothing makes me happy anymore. I'm tired of trying SO hard at everything only to achieve nothing, OR just to be hurt by people. I just wish I was dead sometimes. What should I do?

I think it's easier to get on the stationary bike for 5 min every hour (For at least 12 hours), rather than for an hour straight. It almost seems like exercising is small amounts throughout the day would be better for metabolism anyway, what do you think?

i haven't went to the doctor to have them tell me that i have a cleaning problem, but from what people say and me now noticing that i am a neat freak, clean-aholic.. so now my question is, why can't people be put on something for being "lazy, dirty, bum's"? i always thought "cleanliness was closer to godly-ness", so why is being clean a disorder????? that is my only question!

The first time around, when I said I had +/- 12 months, some people actually thought I was kidding (which I guess is normal for this type of web forum...look at the butt-wipe who claimed he duct-taped his kids' mouths shut). I honestly still don't know. I really wonder, however, if one were to sit and seriously think about it, how they would approach their life...knowing they might die at any time. It's not something that should be answered quickly (except where I'll get the ol' standard "Get right with God," "Accept Jesus as your Savior," etc., type of answers). Somewhere out there, someone has to have a philisophical outlook regarding early death that may actually be interesting. I may not find it here...but ya never know.

This gentleman has 3 informercials on at the same time adveristing a book called the "Weight Loss Cure". Intially I thought there was some truth to what he was saying. However, his comments seem very contradictory when you listen to him.

He stated that the Government allows certain chemicals in our foods which affect the hypothalamus and metabolism, causing weight gain, slow metabolism, and abnormal cravings. I'm inclined to agree with this, though I can't prove it.

However, he goes on to say, after following the protocol in his book, imbalances will be corrected, fat permently removed, and one can resume eating all the same foods without worry of these problems repeating themselves.

That makes no sense to me!! I would think, if the chemicals in our food is the cause of these problems, the moment one resumes eating these foods, it would start the process all over again? He also claims to have lost 45 lbs in six weeks. Has anyone read the book? If so, what is this "cure"?

I stress out over EVERYTHING! And my mom does too and my sisters do, my grandma does. Is it hereditary? It's not that I get mad at everything, it's just I always feel tense and worried about everything, even little things. I feel like there isn't enough time in a day to do everything I need to do. My life is at real turn point right now because I just finished high school and I'm going into Med school in Sept. I'm really nervous about it. Is there such thing as being too stressed out? Is there something that a doctor may prescribe in order to help me relax a little? What can I do?

I noticed recently that whenever I do aroebic excercises I feel a pricking sensation on my back and arms. It feels like a bunch of timy needles are being poked everywhere. The first time it happened I thought it was due to the shirt I was wearing at the time, but it has happened about ten times since then. It happens when my heart rate starts to rise. Why is this happening? Is this a sign of something bad?

I'm thinking perhaps using a funnel would work? Drinking that much water is difficult for me, especially as it takes too long & doesn't taste of anything. I'm really into healthy stuff so the only things I drink are juice, innocent smoothies, rice milk, filtered/mineral water, & herbal teas. The first 3 of which are expensive & bad for you in large amounts. Are there any easier & or quicker ways to get hydrated?

At 36, I finally gave and got new glasses. Never wearing prescription glasses, I wasn't sure if there was some sort of adjustment period to get used to them. Reason I ask is that although everything is much clearer, it looks like everything I look at appears it is moving away from me. For example, looking at the computer monitor, the top looks further back than the bottom of the screen and the sides of the monitor go out on an angle as I move from the bottom to the top of the monitor. Any ideas on what specifically causes this? Is this an error in the person who created my lenses? Is it normal to have to adjust and eventually everything will go back to normal?
