I noticed recently that whenever I do aroebic excercises I feel a pricking sensation on my back and arms. It feels like a bunch of timy needles are being poked everywhere. The first time it happened I thought it was due to the shirt I was wearing at the time, but it has happened about ten times since then. It happens when my heart rate starts to rise. Why is this happening? Is this a sign of something bad?

Andrea, what you are experiencing is GOOD.
It means that these areas of your body were not receiving enough oxygen and blood irrigation before. The prickling comes from the fact that new small Little arteries are opening up to receive more blood. This blood will nourish your cells better and you will have a better general health than before. KEEP it up. Good job!!

If your hands, arms, back and neck feel normal during all other activities I'd say your OK for now. In the future the sensation you described is present all the time do not hesitate seeing a Neurologist. The second line of defense is to see a Neurosurgeon. If numbness persists over time permanency may result. From your description there may be a problem somewhere in your cervical spine. The very best of luck to you.
I hope I didn't freak you out, my goal is to make you aware

It could be the happy hormones saturating your body, or possible sign of heart trouble.
