I'm thinking perhaps using a funnel would work? Drinking that much water is difficult for me, especially as it takes too long & doesn't taste of anything. I'm really into healthy stuff so the only things I drink are juice, innocent smoothies, rice milk, filtered/mineral water, & herbal teas. The first 3 of which are expensive & bad for you in large amounts. Are there any easier & or quicker ways to get hydrated?

Keeping a water bottle with me during the day (as much as possible) definitely helps. I also enjoy a good twist of organic lemon or lime in the water for taste.

Some of the stuff that you are drinking is good for you, but only in moderation. Rice milk, smoothies and fruit juices (my favorite) are still loaded with sugars (even if they are natural).

A bottle of water is a little more than 2 cups of water. If you can carry 2 - 3 bottles of water with you, then you can easily drink 4 - 6 cups of water there.

For me, this is what I do: in the morning, I eat my normal breakfast and then add in some powdered cereal with a cup of water. There's my first cup. At school, I bring a bottle of water. That's two cups. Afterschool I have practice, so I bring another bottle of water. That's two more cups. When I get home, I eat dinner, do my run, and come back to take a shower. Before I shower, I drink another cup, and after I shower, I drink another one.

At that point I've already drank 6 cups. When I get out of the shower, that's my seventh cup. Finally, before I go to sleep, that's my last cup, equaling 8 cups. I'd try to get my cups of water in the most natural state, not in fruit drinks or smoothies. It's best to try and drink more during exercise, when you actually really need it.

I would not use a funnel. That's too much at one time. You should try spacing out your water consumption so you don't feel as full and bored. If you want, you can first start with 4 cups, then build to 6, then 8 as you figure out your schedule.

The 8 glasses of water a day is a myth.
There's no scientific basis for 8 glasses of water.
The possible origins is probably based upon the sick elderly in the hospital.

For a healthy person, just drinking when you're thristy will do.
So no need to funnel water, just drink at a casual pace without worrying about trying to get 8 glasses of water down your throat.

Smoothies are a good start, but are filled with (natural+artifical) sugar. Water is simply the best. What I do is carry a water bottle around with me EVERYWHERE. Try to drink water whenever you can. It also helps temporarily fill up your stomoache if you are super hungry. Hope it goes well!
