At 36, I finally gave and got new glasses. Never wearing prescription glasses, I wasn't sure if there was some sort of adjustment period to get used to them. Reason I ask is that although everything is much clearer, it looks like everything I look at appears it is moving away from me. For example, looking at the computer monitor, the top looks further back than the bottom of the screen and the sides of the monitor go out on an angle as I move from the bottom to the top of the monitor. Any ideas on what specifically causes this? Is this an error in the person who created my lenses? Is it normal to have to adjust and eventually everything will go back to normal?

the glasses just dont fit you right. go into an optician and have them refitted. very common prob with new glasses. its bcos the lens is actually cut at an angle depending on your eyesight, and that angle needs to be aligned with the appropriate part of your eye. usually just adjusting the frame is enough to make it sit right.

First, an adjustment period is normal. Do you have bi or tri focals? If so, you have to learn to look through your glasses another way. Have your eye doctor measure the curve in your lens--if it's the slightest bit off, you will experience what you're going through. That happened to me years ago when I wore glasses before having cataracts removed. Quite a trip, isn't it?!

most men just wear glasses when they have to and they whip them off and don't be seen in them as they don't want to appear to be wearing glasses. Here is my advice.
Wear these glasses from the time you get up until the time you go to bed and most of these problems will go away.
If they don't then tell the eye doc because the prescription is wrong..don't be vain..its normal to adjust to any glasses..

That happens often, it takes a while to get used to the glasses. Sometimes the depth perception is off, sometimes everything seems too sharp.... If however, after a couple of days it continues, you should go back to the optician and they might have to change your prescription.

this happened to my mom the last time she got new glasses... there is an adjustment period and you should get used to them granted that you actually wear the glasses.... if this continues for more than about 5 days you might want to go back and see the person who made the glasses...hope this helped.... good luck

Your prescription is not correct. Let your optometrist know. You should not be having problems adjusting.

your glasses are f-ed up! not that you didn't already realize that. take them back soon and tell them to fix them, you don't even want ot try getting used to something like that, nor should you have to that's crap!
