i haven't went to the doctor to have them tell me that i have a cleaning problem, but from what people say and me now noticing that i am a neat freak, clean-aholic.. so now my question is, why can't people be put on something for being "lazy, dirty, bum's"? i always thought "cleanliness was closer to godly-ness", so why is being clean a disorder????? that is my only question!

You can safely say that you have OCD when you cant control yourself from cleaning. A perfect example is when you try to clean something and then notice something worng with it and you just cant walk away from the little thing you noticed. If you are just a normal person who loves cleaning like me, then you can tell so. Please go to a doctor and tell him your symptoms. if he notices any OCD problems, they arenot gonna put you in a mental hospital or anything. They will try to help you and there are many medication which you can take at home to help you. Please go see a doctor. and people critize you for being clean because they are not. youre unique because youre one of the few that love to clean like some one who loves to be messy. GOOD job. and keep whatever youre doing.

A doctor said I had this also. I am a clean neat person & cant stand dirty lazy unorganized people. I would not say you have this if the only place you see it appear is in cleanliness. That may be the most common place its noticed. I also will lets say call my mom.. If she doesnt anwser I will call lets say 10 times back to back or talk myself into waiting inbetween phone calls (while watching the clock) This will continue until she returns my call. I see it in more areas in myself than cleanliness.... I would ask yourself if the cleanliness is the only area this behavior surfaces. If the anwser is no seek help. If the anwser is yes maybe you are just a clean orderly person. Whatever you do get a second opion before you let 1 person or doctor tell you that you suffer from a disorder... I VOTE FOR A CLEAN HOME>>> LOL Take Care

It is a mistake to equate OCD to being a neat freak. People with OCD can obsess about a lot of things not just cleanliness. They can obsess about accidentally injuring others, germs, orderliness etc. It becomes a disorder when their obsession interferes with a person's ability to functions (hold down a job, disrupts relationships, leads to behaviors that are harmful).

Yes they do, they called it depression. Because if you're depressed, it seems that world is gloomy and it makes you not waning to do anything for yourself. Good enough, yes?
