I don't know if I actually have shin splints or not, but whenever I get back from ballet mys shins hurt a lot and I can't seem to stretch them or anything and so I'm not sure if that's shin splints or something else. And I never dance straight on cement... also what do I do to treat them?

I'm 15, 5'1" and weigh, last I checked, about 83 pounds. I've been told I need to gain weight in order to grow, especially in these teen years. The past three days, I've probably consumed over 2000 calories. Do you think this is a good idea for me...at least until I reach a certain weight? I'm also a girl.

I went to dr cause my knees are bad and when they went out I fell on my foot hard. it was a orthopedic dr but all he did was feel my knee and said theropy, he didnt even look at my foot or any of the xrays. I wont go to theropy cause it hurts to even move my knees and at the hospital they said moving them (exercising) would cause more damage. I over heard the dr at the office as I was leaving tell his nurse not to schedule him so full cause he had things to do in evening (my app. was at end of day) knees getting worse but worse of all is my foot. I had xray at hospital about 1 month ago but showed no break. but now I can hardly put weight on it and very sharp pains in bottom when trying to walk. could there be a fracture that was not seen first time? every day it gets harder and harder to walk on foot. I know my knees are from the cartlidge but I am not sure what is wrong with my foot

People here seem to be so obsessed with calories.

It's like some people think "low-calorie" or "low-carb" and "healthy" mean the same thing. Healthy eating isn't about cutting calories or cutting carbs! It's about eating healthy food!

People seem to think getting 100 calories from white bread is better than getting 110 calories from whole wheat bread.

People think that taking diet pills or going on a low-carb diet or a high-protein diet or a low-fat diet or whatever will make them healthy and lose weight.

Eating healthy isn't about that kind of thing! It's about eating a balanced variety of natural foods!

I had xxx with a man whom I'm monogamous with. I don't have any STD's. After sex, the area just around or above the pubic area itches a bit (on him). I don't like to get waxed. So, I shave the top portion. Could this irritation be due to little baby pubic whiskers? Any suggestions (other than painful waxing?)

My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease and her doctors put her on Aricept. I don't think it helped at all. I doubt if she had Alzheimer's because she started to get dementia after she had a bout of congestive heart failure and got a pacemaker. I think the dementia was related to her heart problem. Also, the books I read about Alzheimer's say the people who have it live for years and years and slowly deteriorate. My mother died within two years of getting the diagnosis and she deteriorated quickly--which also sounds more the way vascular dementia is described in the books I read. Maybe it's better she died quickly, because it was so sad to see this intelligent woman lose her mind. But I digress, has anybody heard of anyone having positive results from Aricept? I don't think it helped my mother; I wonder if it helped anybody else.

How common is this? What if they presented in infancy?

My middle daughter, whos almost three has chronic uncontrolled Myoclonic seizures that started in infancy. My youngest daughter, two months old had a burst of myoclonic seizures shortly after her vaccines.

Although they weren't that frequent in my middle daughter until about six months old. They started at the same time that my youngest daughters did.

I am praying that was an isolated case but we wont know until her EEG this month. Seizures run heavily in my family but I've never seen a sibling set where more then one child was affected.

My oldest child is seizure free.

I have a teenager who is experiencing anxiety, depression and phobia. I have read about a self help program to deal with this. It is from the Midwest center by Lucinda Bassett and claims to do wonders. It is not a free program and before spending money I would like to hear from anyone who might have bought or used this particular program.

I had taken a One a Day All Day Energy pill that morning, along with a Super B complex, folic acid, and zinc pill. At the Dr.'s, they took my blood pressure and it was 148/90. They were concerned about it. I went home and checked the bottle for the One a Day All Day Energy supplement and it said that it contained as much caffine as a cup of coffee. I never have caffine and that pill did make me pretty jittery. Do you think it was the pill that caused me to have the high bp reading?
