I know that a commonly reported side effect of prometrium is a feeling of lethargy/dizzy/drunk. Does anyone know the mechanism behind this? I can't understand why a hormone that is naturally present in the body would make a person feel this way. I just started dose of 200mg and I would equate the feeling to taking a strong narcotic pain medicine.

I have a medical background and would like to better understand the physiology that makes one feel "drunk" while on this med.

I normally do aerobics straight after work and it's very satisfying once it's done, but often I find it quite a chore after a hard day at work.

I was therefore thinking about exercising first thing in the morning, to get it out the way, and then maybe get something more relaxing in after work, like yoga or toning.

Anyway, never exercised first thing, and just wondering how best to start. Do I have breakfast before or after? Baring in mind I also stick to a specific diet, is just a quick coffee and some porridge or crumpets, so quite light. Do I just get up and do it, or do I need time to get more alert first? Any more hints or tips would also be appreciated.

Then how come people live longer today than they did before there were medications for everything?
Personally I do believe in using natural cures but my husband asked me this and I didn't know what to say.

When my little girl started school, age just 4, there was a lesson about the need to have a healthy heart.
After that, she refused to sit down - running round everywhere... at bedtime she wouldn't go to sleep. She told me if she didn't excercise, she was afraid her heart would stop!

I complained to the school & spoke to our health visitor.
We never really managed to overcome the hyper-activity that resulted (buying her a Ninetendo DS has helped her to keep still).

Her diet has never been right. I was still spoon-feeding her when she was 7 because that was the only way I could get food inside her
(she preferred to just drink milk).
(I tried letting her starve, as advised, for a short time, but that didn't work).
She eats very, very little! I took her to a paedicitrician, when her weight was worrying me & the GP. She agreed to eat more.
But after a few days, she reverted back.
She only eats a bit of pasta & some fruit.
& Now, a few weeks later, she says she is on a diet!

About two weeks ago i had palpitations and my temperature was high. When i went to the doctor he said my blood pressure was normal(130/80(. he gave me some malaria treatment and something for flagellates. I had some burning sensation in my head, and under my feet. he gave me lexotanil tablets to take. even though the burning sensations have reduced, i still feel it slightly in my head. I'm also expecting my period very soon. what could be the cause of these sensations in my head which sometimes cause headaches. The last time i checked my blood pressure it was 120/80.
