I sleep laying on my right side,so it hurts the worst after I've slept on that side most of the night. It's so bad I have to grab the bed post just to get out of the bed!

Well it could be a torn muscle. a kidney infection. an intestinal problem or many other things. Are you having any other symptoms ie burning with urination or constipation? How long have you had this pain? It's hard to answer with so little info. My best guess is if it is a recent thing and you are having no other symptoms then it is probably a muscle injury. You should go see your doctor to make sure though.

It doesn't sound like the liver or the gall bladder, which are both within the rib cage or slightly below it. Your appendix is over there but it is typically below the 'waist', in the peritenieal cacity.

Your problem may be from something else entirely though. I say go see your MD and get that checked out.

Could just be a cramp--get a hot water bottle and rub castor oil
or olive oil on the pain.
