most diest that sound good normally are. soup is nothing really then a broth and your drinking water. wehn you start a diet you will lose water before fat. all that is, is a quick diet to lose weight fast, you will never keep it off. your body needs other stuff to go on other then that. alot of people that diet like that will gain more weight back. 5 small meals a day. you dont have to eat diet food to lose weight. you can eat anything u want. if a package says 3 cookies eat just 3 cookies. there has to some kind of excerising going on some where there to. thats if u do it the right way. but if u just had major surgery your not helping your body out by doing a diet like that. Here is 15 foods that will help you lose. curb yor appetite and stop sugar cravings.
1. EGGS
2. BEANS
3. SALAD
4. GREEN TEA
5.PEARS
6.SOUP
7. LEAN BEEF
8. OLIVE OIL
9. GRAPEFRUIT
10. CINNAMON
11.VINEGAR
12.TOFU
13.NUTS
14. HIGH FIBER CEREAL
15. HOT RED PEPPERS
YE soup is on this list but you need other foods to and excerise. good luck and dont use a deit like that unless your planning on going throug it again with more weight!!

Only go on a soup and water diet if you can't eat solids after your surgery. You don't say what kind of surgery you had.

If you can eat solids, I would suggest that instead of going on a diet (i don't believe in diets) try to have up to 5 small meals a day. That way your digestive system doesn't have to struggle with vast quantities of food at once. This works well if you're trying to lose weight too. I'm not a nutritionist - but going on a soup and water diet doesn't sound very healthy to me. We need solids to help us push out our stools otherwise you might just get constipated!

This doesn't sound like a good diet to me. Soup is water based so to drink soup and water all day will mean you can't go very far from the loo! You need to chew something, that is why we have teeth! A proper balanced diet with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables might sound 'old hat' but it is exactly what your body needs. Keep off fatty things and don't have huge portions and you will do fine.

don't diet like this, you are not helping you body that much. after a while you will break down and go back to your old ways even harder. eat good, but not just soup, also if you want to lose weight start off slow since you just got through a major surgery.

hope you heal well

I tried it for three weeks strait.. And it worked
But....BAD NEWS is that the minute I got off it i gained it all back and more,,
Soup and Water diet is just a fad.. just try and learn a daily habit on your food intake and exercises... worked alot better for me

If you you have gone through major surgery, surely this kind of diet would not be a good idea.
You would be best to consult your doctor, who can put you in touch with a dietitian.

get skinny quick diets like that enable you to lose weight quickly, but when you stop the diet and start eating normally again the weight comes back fast. The only way to lose weight is to burn more calories than you put in your body/day. I suggest this regimen:
1. drink a lot of water.
2. eat breakfast at 6:30 every morning
3. keep your heart level up for at least 2 hours/day
4. eat lunch consisting of fruits and vegetables and meat at 12:00pm
5. eat a snack at 3pm of fruit
6. eat a light supper no later than 6:30pm.
The reason that I say start at 6:30am is because it will stimulate your metabolism and the earlier you eat, the more breakfast you can eat
The reason that I say at least 30 min of aerobic exercise/day is because the longer that you keep your heart rate up the more energy you burn.
The reason that I have put you on a schedule of times to eat is because this schedule keeps your metabolism up. The later that you eat supper, the more likely that the calories that you consume at dinner will turn to fat.
I suggest a lot of water because it has no calories and it aids the digestive process. I suggest fruit and vegetables because they do not have many calories and they digest easily.
Eat nuts in the morning because they are difficult to digest and will keep you full longer.
Good luck getting into shape.
By the way, if you run for at least 30 minutes/day you can go out to eat 1 time per week.

Aigh diets make me crazy. None of them work b/c they are temporary. If you really want to eat nothing but soup eat vegetable soup so that you'll at least get some of the nutrients you need. But please, just eat small healthy meals instead.
