It looks like I need to get my wisdom teeth out and although I can have it done under the normal local anesthetic you usually get it done under, I'm thinking about having it done under general in the hospital.

I know it costs more, so thats not an issue. What I want to know is what do they actually do to you when they put you under general. I have never had an operation under general anesthetic so I really don't know.

Do you have to fast beforehand?
Do you have to have a catheter?
Do you feel anything?
Are you awake at all/will you remember it?
Anything else I should know?

Also what would be the correct dosage when switching from 60mg oxycontin to methadone. The docs put me on 30mg & that was ok for about the first month. I'm thinking either 60 which would be 2 three times a day or 40 one four times a day.

I have what i think is a wisdom tooth coming in. Theres a very little bit of tooth way in the back that is popped through but now the gum that surrounds it has covered most of that tooth. It is swelled up and hurts like HELL! its hard for me to open my mouth all the way without it hurting. It is weird because my daughter who is 5 just went to her doc for the same reason and the doc said she is cutting her molars. But i started experiencing this 1 day later. help please? what does this sound like to you??

My sis is 27, divorced, 1 kid. Since the time she was a little girl, she had great imagination, like almost every child. But now she just makes up so much stuff, and what is worse she believes it! It could be everyday believable thing or completely sci-fi story and I don't know why she is like that. My mum tried to take her to see specialist, but she thinks everything is OK with her. I feel sad for her, why does she have to lie? It didn't start with her divorce, I suspect it was one of the reasons for divorce. Is she ill? What is her diagnosis, how can I help her?

I would like to know as much as possible about the 'start' of a cancerous cells, how do they spread in the body? what difference on a cellular level there is against a normal? Under the microscope what do they look like? What about the DNA what is the difference? What is the main difference bewteen cancerous nad normal cells on all levels. ok maybe my question was unclear. for the person who answered this last post. i know that i don't have active tb but the test means that at some point in my life i have been exposed to the germ, term latent tb(LTBI). all the research that i have done on this says that the 2step test can't give a false + but i say sometimes there are a few rare people who break all the STANDARD rules. is there anyone out there that this has happeded to? (neg. pos.)( neg. neg.)(the results of 2 different 2step skin tests taken 14mo. appart)everyone says not to take the test ever again if you test + that you will always test +(apperently not true). also the meds. used to treat LTBI (inh) NOT SKIN TEST can cause headaches. has anyone experienced this side effect? what about allergic reaction from the test (tubersol)not b/c of possible LTBI?
how hard is it going to be to get this straightened out w/health dept.? i suggest that you go w/your gut, get a 2nd opinion sometimes the standard rules can be wrong.

During this government, the US decided to veer off from dealing out condoms to africans, and instead preach abstinence as the ultimate protection against AIDS/HIV.

But is this really sensible- seeing as this results in posters promoting abstinence and then on the other hand, other people giving out condoms? It sends a really mixed message.

What should be done? Is this right? Perhaps the most efficient way to prevent HIV/AIDS is to promote oral sex? ;)

I was recently told that a person can be allergic to dental filling, and the stuff used in filling a a tooth after a root canal. if so does anyone know what type of reactions this could cause if a person was allergic? I've had 6 Root Canals since the first of the year and been highly sick since then.

I am on medicine for depression and anxiety. I have had several people tell me about a psychotic cocktail. I stay tired all the time and they are telling how much energy they have taking this cocktail. But I would like to know what it contains first, because I think I have tried all the antidepressants, and they only work for just a little while then I have to increase or change. I have lots of medical problems and a very high medication tolerance. I have been on high mg. of very dangerous medicines for many years and then they change them. I am manic depressed with a psuedotumer, and only 39 years old. Please help find the answer to my question. thank you

I feel samler than the people at my school people tel me I'm growing but I'm not. I know I have grow but it like the size of a samll toe like every year. I see other people shotting up within a half term ir between some lenght of time. What sort of food do I need to be eating and how can I get taller fast. Im sick of being samll. My techer is having me do a project over a genetic disorder and I someone to answer some of my questions over Huntington's Disease.

I can't find images where it shows the physical affects on people who have Huntington's Disease. Is there a photo gallery or website that shows the physical affects on this sort of disease?

Also trends show that people in their 30's or 40's are diagnosed and die in 10-20 years. Can young people die from this disorder as well ex.) 10-15 year olds?
