I have what i think is a wisdom tooth coming in. Theres a very little bit of tooth way in the back that is popped through but now the gum that surrounds it has covered most of that tooth. It is swelled up and hurts like HELL! its hard for me to open my mouth all the way without it hurting. It is weird because my daughter who is 5 just went to her doc for the same reason and the doc said she is cutting her molars. But i started experiencing this 1 day later. help please? what does this sound like to you??

you need to see your dentist who may refer you to an oral surgeon for an impacted wisdom tooth.
one of the sure signs of impacted wisdom teeth is pain with difficulty opening your mouth.
my dentist told me it is your jaw locking
after it happened the first time and i waited a few days i knew not to wait the next time it happened
this often happens when there is not enough room in your mouth for the wisdoms to grow in and the tooth begins to grow sideways near your ear
it can also get infected then you have more problems
and it can or can not happen with each of the 4 teeth which can grow in years apart
removing it is painless -and your mouth is only sore for a few hours later
you usually are given antibiotics for a week and tylenol #3
which you wont need for more than a day
at first you can apply ice packs to the cheek for 20 minutes
and in a week return to have the sutures out

It does sound quite like a wisdom tooth. Since the wisdom teeth are the last of your teeth. Feel to see if there is room for another tooth to come in behind it. If not then that is for sure your wisdom tooth. The wisdom teeth do not stick up as high as the other teeth (at least not for me or anyone I know). If you have swelling you may want to check with a doctor. It could cause problems if absessed.

I too had problems with wisdom teeth. This is probably exactly that and it does hurt like HELL! I had mine cut out when I was about 25. My other teeth actually started pushing it above the gum. It had grown in sideways because I had too many teeth. I went ahead and had both of the bottom ones cut out, which didn't hurt at the time because they put me completely out at my request. They told me they could just numb it, but that I would hear them grinding away at the bone because they had to crush some of the bone to get to my bottom ones. My top two they pulled. I was in agony for about 3 days and my whole face was yellow from the bruising and swelled. I looked like the kid from Mask, the movie with Cher! But then I got braces so it was worth it. You should get to a dentist. The oral surgeon I went to told me if I had waited any longer the surgery would have been more severe because my teeth were continuing to push it farther down in the gums. Let us know what it is?

It definitely sounds like a wisdom tooth. You'll probably need to get it removed if it's causing that much pain. Don't worry, they give you laughing gas, so it isn't bad. The recovery is a little harder but you'll be fine in a couple of days. Good luck.

yep wisdom tooth..poss accompanied by pericornitis, an inflammation of the tissue covering the erupting tooth. Hot saline rinses, call the dentist.

Sorry :( The teeth fairy is not going to come opt for it up considering that it is too gigantic and heavy. The teeth fairy can simplest take small enamel considering that she may be very small and does not move to the gymnasium.

Sounds like wisdom teeth... YEA. THEY HURT. mine came in a few years ago and DAM>>>> its not fun.
