I have been on the depo for about 7 years and have been fine apart from the normal side effects of weight gain etc. But I have been told to come off it due to an operation I need in a few months. I get on well with it as I don't need to remember to take a pill everyday. As I am coming off it, I thought I may stay off it and see if I can loose some weight. In the meantime I'm looking for another contraceptive that I don't really need to think about as I don't trust myself to take a pill everyday. I've heard about patches - but do they use the same drug as the depo? (ie gives you the same side effects) And how does it work, how often do you change it? Any help most appreciated!

Sounds sick, but I've heard of it happening and wondered if it were true. Plus my 6 year old asked me and I didn't know the answer.

She is hot and cold both at the same time - so that and the cough sounds to me more like bronchitis? She has no fever that I can find. She gets a sore throat from coughing, and the cough sounds like whopping cough but aslo sounds a lot like a bronchits cough (which we have both had) Also I'd like to know, if it is whopping cough - I know it is contagious and bad for pregnant women (or the unborn baby) BUT how long does exposure have to be? My nieghbor who is preg came by the other day just to borrow a screwdriver. She was only here maybe 3 min. Can whopping cough or bronchits spread by just being in the same room? By breathing the same air. The baby is due the 23 of this month. The mother is approx 23 or so. Should I tell her that she may have gotten it? How can I tell if it is whopping cough or bronchits? She doesn't 'whoop' but I did find out that not everyone does. I did find that much on the web.

I injured my shoulder a month ago and when i hurt it I heard a "pop, pop, crack" It was extremely painful the next day, with the pain lessening over the next couple days, yet still hurting. After the 4th day I went to urgent care and got xrays. She said it was a sprained shoulder and to iake Ibuprofen and try not to baby it. It has been annoyingly painful ever since and just this week it started getting really stiff and popping and cracking whenever I use it. It almost feels as if the stiffness is spreading to my neck and my back. Could the xray have missed something with my tendon's or ligaments? I don't want to go back and get another doctor's bill if they're gonna tell me nothings wrong. Help - it hurts!

Doctors say that I have IBS but I'm not sure that is what it is. I have so much pain in my upper adominal area that I break out into a sweat, lose my vision and now according to my co-workers I turn white as a ghost. Does this happen to some of you when you have pain or IBS attacks, whatever you want to call it.

Can it be passed down to family members?

I'm a 15 year old boy and i'm quite skinny and tall.I have congenital ribs malformation on my left side and my collar bone(clavicle) on my left side is higher than the right one making my shoulders unleveled. The right side is normal but due of being skinny, all my bones can be seen specially the deformed ones.I've been to the doctor(my father's friend) and he examined me trough X-ray reports. He only told me that i have some congenital deformation and the rest is fine.He told me that i should build muscles and the deformations won't be visible.I'm really suspicious about that because after talking to me,he sent me outside and spoke to my father for about 10minutes.Is it true that building muscle helps to correct malformation or its all crap information just not to tell me that i can never be like the other boys of my age for i've always wanted to be a model as a kid.

What exactly is a "loose stool"? When I have a normal bowel movement sometimes I feel like if a bowel comes out thinner-looking (but still formed) this is a loose stool?

But can you have a normal bowel movement with thinner-looking bowels that are still formed? Or is it even possible to have a normal bowel movement that turns into looser stools?

Sorry if this is a gross question but sometimes I can't tell if the bowels would be enough to be considered diarrhea or loose stools even when I have a normal bowel movement.

Thanks!!

Can you tell me if this normal or not. I started my period on the 15th of this month and yseturday when I changed my tampon there was a big blood clot on it, then while I was peeing I passed another blood clot about the size of a half dollar. I actually felt it come out of me. I know women have blood clots when they have their period but is having that size of a blood clot normal? My period will be regular for awhile and then go irregular, I get it sometimes 2 times in one month. (My period before this was on July 15th to the 21st, but I also had it on June 30th -July 5th) Feburary and March I never got a period and then in june I had it April, May and June and got it on or right around the 3rd. What is the blood clot thing all about. Do you think there is something wrong and if so what do you think it could be. I had an utrasound done in March when my period didn't start for the 2nd month in a row, they found nothing wrong w/me. Is there something their something they are

For the last few months, I've been having foot problems. If I sit for a duration of time and get up, I limp and it takes about a min or two of limping before I can walk normal again until I sit and the process starts over. The pain I feel in my feet is on the top of my foot and on the sides. Sometimes even my ankles. It feels like I sprained my feet even though I've never sprained them. Yes, the foot problem is on both feet.

I have stayed at my full-time job for 10 yrs. I work 12 hour days for 4 days a week in steel toed boots and the job I have, we can only sit for an hour a day of work. I don't know if my foot problems are due to work or standing on my feet for that many years. What do you suggest I do? Should I see a doctor?
