smoking a couple of weeks back - I just have no cravings at all! Its great!! But my mum's a nurse. I'm a total hypochondriac!! I'm 19. And i'm petrified I have throat or mouth cancer....I was smoking for four years or just over...I had a kind of sore throat the other day, kind of felt like something was in my throat after I had dinner then it went after my friend prayed for me!!!! Anyway, how do i stop being so worried?? I had an aunt-in-law who died from bowl cancer a couple of months ago, she was 44 and I guess its just freaked me out SO much...its driving me mad!

The chances of you actually having throat cancer at your age are so very low. You are not a hypochondriac and are just very concerned about your body and that you abused it. You were concerned enough to quit and that is very good. Go in and have some tests to make sure...believe me it is the only way to settle your mind. You just came off a very powerful drug and there will be changes in the way you feel. I think you are one smart person. Good luck!

You know, it's great that you gave up smoking. But if you are afraid you might have cancer go to see a doctor. Most probably there's nothing to be worried about. You are just afraid to have cancer, and from what I could see you are thinking of it all of the time. STOP. Don't let such thoughts ruin your life.

DOn't worry so much......
I come from surviving cancer 2x, I am 34...I still get worried over every little thing.
Day it one day at a time..enjoy life!
I bet you are just worried, because that happens with me!
every little thing..
You could go to the dr, and maybe you have allergies or something...
And yes, everyone dies..but if you have a disease..that line doesn't help!
But just keep it easy!
SOrry to hear about your aunt
Good luck
God Bless

For you to get cancer of that sort, you would be to be smoking for years, and years. You probably haven't even been alive longer than it takes for a serious case of oral or lung cancer to develop.
At least you are aware of your hypochondria, which will make it easier for you to overcome it. You could always just go to the doctor and ask for some piece of mind.

If you feel that bad about it,go have a throat scan done.Your more likely to get it from second hand smoke anyway. But,try not to live your life being scared of stuff like that.Just maintain precautions about stuff, and be happy.Everyone gets sick, then they get better. Why ruin a happy time?:-)

You cannot worry about what you did in the past. You can only fix the future. The fact that you stopped is a step in the right direction.

I can understand you being worried, but CONGRATULATIONS on giving up. Your body is so used to you smoking that you will experience side effects on giving up.ie sore throat, colds and you might get a cough for a while. They will all subside after a while and you'll feel great.!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well done you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
