How old does someone have to be in order for you to call them senior? Do people being called seniors find the word senior to be offensive?

I am asking this question in the V&V section because I am a vegan.

well i am 14, and am on my way of becoming vegetarian. literally, i almost cry thinking about the animals loosing their lives so we can *eat* them.
well anyways, what are good substitutes for meat that will provide plenty of protein? i know soy products and beans and what not, but any others? and how do you integrate them into meals that would require meat? especially with a family of people who eat meat? (i am convincing them to become vegetarians to)

Eg. "Halal emulsifier" and other stuff...
Does Halal only refer to meat, so that means 'there's animals in this', or could it also mean that it's possibly not animal-derived at all?

Is there something wrong with me? Everytime I eat something containing meat of any kind I can't help but think about the poor animal that had to die and the cruel ways you hear and see people killing these animals, it gets really upsetting and I can't eat it. I know becoming a vegeterian wont change the world.

Is there anyone else out there who can't quite make the jump to vegetarianism but is wracked with meat-eather's guilt? I had to follow the chicken truck down the interstate today (the one taking them to slaughter) and wanted to cry. Yet I can't quite get away from my cravings for meat. (Even though I mostly eat vegetarian) How can I make it the rest of the way to vegetarianism? One friend suggested eating BEFORE I get hungry, which does help. But does anyone have any other suggestions?

I know you don't eat them. I just mean in terms of what they are made of, do they contain animals or animal byproducts?

Michael Vick did a terrible thing. He hung, drowned, tortured and forced dogs to fight.

Now, I ask you, how is that any worse than what our meat industry does to beef, pork, fowl, and fish?

As consumers of such "food", are we not endorsing cruelty to animals?
