I think you might have your child and the playdough fun factory mixed up. Do you wear glasses?

How old is your child? Bilirubin is not a problem after 2 weeks or so. The whites of the eyes would be yellow if the bilirubin was high.
Did he get into something or given something by an older child?
I once read an article in Pediatrics (a professional journal) about a toddler whose stools looked like strawberry ice cream. He was admitted to the hospital. He was given a ton of tests, but none of the doctors could figure it out. Then mom caught the older child sitting on the kitchen floor at home. He had eaten most of a box of Frankenberry (strawberry) cereal. He admitted the he and the little brother had eaten a whole box the week before. Of course big brother started pooping "strawberry ice cream" too. Both kids were fine.
Of course check with your doctor as you said you were going to do.

Maybe he got into something at preschool? My daughter eats very little in the way of artificial flavors and colors, but recently her poop has been bright pink. I had to mail in a stool sample in case it is blood, but when I was giving her a vitamin the other day (all natural, from Wild Oats) I realized the culprit. What color are his vitamins?
On the other hand, my doctor warned me once to look for green poop as a sign of bacterial infection. When my son's poop did turn green is was almost fluorescent, but he was also very clearly sick (fever, diarrea etc.). Hope this helps.

Well, just to give you a quick story, I used to drink "Ocean Water" from Sonic with extra lime and extra coconut and it makes your poop come out green. Sounds to me that it's something he is ingesting or some type of illness.
Poop is mostly shades of brown or yellow, but other colors can arise under certain circumstances. For example, someone with a bleeding ulcer might have tarry black poop from the presence of partially digested blood. Bleeding in the intestine, from an anal fissure or split, for example, can stain the poop red. Bloody poop can also be a sign of colon cancer, so you should get it checked out by a doctor if you see blood in your stool. Some illnesses in babies gives them green or even blue-green poop. But another source of blue poop in children is more innocent: it can come from eating a concentrated source of blue food coloring such as ice cream. Intense red food coloring can produce bright red poop. Sometimes brightly colored foods pass through the gut almost unchanged, and the turd may be speckled with bright red fragments such as pimentos, or bright yellow kernels of corn

Certain artificial colorings can do that. Drinking blue gatorade or even certain colors of kool-aid can do it. Talk to his doctor, but it's not necessarily anything serious.
