We've been vegans for many years but I lost so much weight through breastfeeding that I included diary in my diet again.
One thing I still don't eat is eggs. Are they necessary for young toddlers?

I know this isn't a food question but I thought a vegetarian or vegan could help. I don't care for leather and was wondering what big brand companies (e.g. Columbia, Keen, Timberland), make leather free footwear that is suitable for hiking?

Well you asked for it.

Do veg*ns eat ani.........cra....

No, seriously now.

I saw a program about birth customs and all that. Its seems there are a few people who celebrate the birth of there son or daughter by cooking the placenta from the birth. (The doctors on the wishes of the patent keep this in a sterile container until needed).

This couple had a party and some of it was used as a platte and the other half was cooked as a pie.

I wanted to know
a) Would you say human placenta is veg*n.
b) Would any of you veg*ns eat such a thing.
Bare in mind that may herbivores offspring do eat there placenta

In the newspaper a few days ago it said a man fell asleep in a tree while hunting, and died. But before he died he called his wife on his cellphone asking for help. By the time the ambulance came he was already dead. In the newspaper his wife was saying all he lived for was hunting and fishing. That they have tons of animals in their fridge that he brought home.

There's an opinions section. Someone said that he had it coming to him, but others think that the person that said he had it coming to him is heartless.

Personally, I think the person that is really heartless is the hunter..because well, I don't like hunters.

So the question is- do you think that the person that wrote that he found it amusing that the hunter fell out of a tree was wrong? Do you think it was wrong of him to write an opinion stating he was happy the hunter got a taste of his own medicine because the hunters family is upset that the man died?

I'm a vegetarian. My family is a huge meat eating family. What do you guys think about being vegetarian? I am in it cuz of the animal cruelty (search PETA TV for my reasoning). Your opinions?

I have
English muffins
eggs
cheddar cheese slices
Morningstar bacon

But the problem is I don't have a toaster oven, and I'm looking to make at least a few days worth that I can refridgerate and microwave.

Do you think I could pre-toast the muffins, make little circle egg patties, cook the bacon, and assemble it all along with the cheese and microwave it when needed? Would the english muffin get hard?

Should I not cook the veggie bacon ahead of time? It normally requires about a minute for 2 pieces, but that's alone on a plate- if I didn't cook it before I'm not sure how it would cook.

Does anyone have tips for me?

I just thought these would be a nice quick breakfast idea, and relatively healthy, so I'd like to try it out.

I asked before using the wrong term.

Are the animals only used for meat once they die, and not given any chemicals to make them "taste better", or hormones to make chickens bigger, etc.?

I don't want to be a vegetarian, but I can't stand the thought of eating an animal that is abused so harshly, starved, etc.

i would love to be vegan (i'm lacto-ovo now). but my parents insist that i can't get enough protein. What kinds of veggies have lots of protein? They also say i will get osteoporosis when i'm old, so what kinds of veggies have calcium in them? Is there anything else i need to know about?
Also, if it says on the label may contain traces of eggs/dairy, is it still okay to eat it?
ps. please don't tell me to eat meat. thanks but i have parents for that. :)

I am a total animal lover.
I really want to vegaterain, but this isn't possible at my house (look at my other questions). When ever we go out to eat, I order a vegetarian dish. I never buy or wear leather, fur, sheepskin or whool. I use products from the Body Shop (they don't test on animals). I never go to (don't support) circuses, marine parks or rodeos. Whenever possible, I inform people about cruelty.

Until I move out (which will be a while) I am forced to eat meat and other animal products. When I actually move out I am going to become a vegatarian, probably a vegan, but until then, what else can I do?
