There are three main challenges here, I think:

1. Getting More Choice on Restaurant Menus

Vegetarians should have more options at the pub than just carrots and deep-fried zucchini, don't you think?

2. The Tofu Problem

Yes, tofu can be okay, but every vegetarian meal doesn't have to include processed bean curd with artificial chicken flavour, does it? I mean, can't the thought that "real fruits and vegetables can taste good all by themselves" catch on?

3. That Sanctimonious Beatnik in Graduate School

You know the one I mean. His name was Beardo the Wierdo, and he looked down his nose at anybody who ate meat, and acted morally superior to anyone who had ever eaten a hamburger. And so now, lots of people think all vegetarians are like that.

What is to be done?

If corn oil comes from corn, and vegitable oil comes from vegitables, then were does baby oil come from?

My sister is a vegetarian, and while she doesn't push her ideas onto us, all I can think of is the turkey's neck being broken. What do you think I ought to do so that I could enjoy my Thanksgiving w/o guilt like I use to?

The 'Cordon Bleu' school here has vegetarian 'Cordon Vert' classes, but they're 1-day things with just a couple of dishes.

If I ate meat, I'd be off to their full program (or another good one) asap, but I don't -- never tasted it, not interested in doing so, so -- highly unlikely to be able to learn to cook it well, and ergo not about to pass much by way of traditional cookery classes.

Have all vegetarian chefs just cut out the meat from their classical training? Are there any schools with serious vegetarian cooking programs? Or are vegetarian chefs usually of the self-taught cowboy variety?

I am vegetarian and was just wondering if anyone can recommend a good supplement that helps replace the vitamins and minerals that don't have a high consistency in a vegetarian diet, that doesn't break the bank? Thanks in advance.

Can all the people who claim that veggies eat fish please quote a credible source.

Real dictionaries ( not the on-line unmoderated ones ) always have a definition that amounts to veggies don't eat meat, fish or poultry.

So I have no clue why so many people get confused.

I really don't do well with fussy vegan recepies most days...

Anyone have any amazing super nutricious VEGAN recepies?! With easy-to-get-hold-of ingrediants?

He says he knows some vegetarians and they aren't healthy. He usually pays for all the groceries here, but says I'll have to buy my own if I do this. :(
I know I didn't ask a specific question, but if you could just give advice I'd be very greatful.

Thanks

I have noticed this a lot on organic apples and it keeps me from wanting to buy them because it looks like something that has been put on them and then cleaned off. Anyone know what it is?

Remember, simple is elegant. The ingredients need to be readily available and appealing to the common palate where even the idea of this soup is on the edge.

They always say that you have to eat meat to live. Why? I've been living for five years now and feel just fine as a vegan. I don't need meat to live. Where did we all get the idea that we need meat to live?
