He says he knows some vegetarians and they aren't healthy. He usually pays for all the groceries here, but says I'll have to buy my own if I do this. :(
I know I didn't ask a specific question, but if you could just give advice I'd be very greatful.

Thanks

Being a healthy vegetarian is VERY easy. Don't let anyone fool you. Some (repeat--SOME) vegetarians are not healthy. But a lot more meat-eaters are even more unhealthy. Any diet should include the proper nutrients. You DO need protein. Fortunately, there are a lot of really wonderful soy meat products on the market now. Morning Star Farms and Boca are two brands you can buy at most local grocery stores. They have great protein content and a lot less fat than meat. You can find their products in the frozen foods section. Also, Smart Deli, Tofurkey and a few more brands are in the "health food" section in a fridge.

When I started dating my boyfriend, he was already a vegetarian and I was not. But, I have happily become one. I AM DEFINITELY HEALTHIER NOW. I have a lot more energy and have become a better cook. I am not saying you have to force your boyfriend to do this with you. It is a personal choice. My concern with your boyfriend is that he seems to be threatening you with this. If you want to do it. Do it. If he can't respect that, then are bigger issues here. It could be he is just afraid of change. It could be he is afraid you will force change on him. And it could be that he is a control freak. I don't know. But, you really should look into that and make sure you are doing what is best for you.

I hope this helps.

Good luck,
Kim

Well, it is your choice to be vegetarian. Would you rather go on eating meat? or would you rather not and pay for your own groceries? Now, vegetables, fruit, and tofu aren't all that expensive so I'm not sure if that will do much of an impact on you. Now, about him saying they're unhealthy? Vegetarians can be very healthy, it's just that they don't eat meat. To get the protein you need, you should eat stuff like nuts, tofu, and other stuff like that. Other foods help with vitamins. And... who says a Boca Burger doesn't taste good? Oh yeah, and eat Jell-O, because your nails will get brittle from not eating meat and Jell-O has something in it that prevents that. But... I just heard that from my brother's friend. Anyways, hope I helped you. And.. pick what you wish to do. =)

It is utter rubbish to say that vegetarians aren't healthy. It might be the case that the vegetarians your boyfriend knows are people who don't take care to eat enough protein, but you can easily get eough of what you need as long as you're clued up on it. Vegetarian diets are now widely known as being healthier than meat eaters, so your boyfriend really doesn't know what he's talking about. Beans, lentils, eggs, nuts, seeds, soya products, chickpeas etc are all full of protein and very healthy, so just make sure you eat enough of them and don't rely too much on processed soya ready meals.
I suggest you read some websites about vegetarianism on the internet and then show your boyfriend that it is the healthiest way to be. You don't need meat to survive, that;s what people in the west have been conditioned to think. You'll be fine and healthy as long as you eat a balanced diet. If your boyfriend is still funny about it you;ll have to think about whether you really want to be with someone who doesn't want to listen to your feelings. You've got the right to put in your body what you want.

Oh my god, your mum has been possessed through veggies! Seriously, although. Cats have quick digestive tracts and are not able to take care of prime quantities of fibre, considering the fact that she will not have time to be capable to digest them accurately. Your cat demands a meat-centered prime in protein and fats meals, low in fibre, in any other case your cat might be malnourished and can, ultimately, die of hunger. If your 'mom' nonetheless believes she will have to have a vegitarian nutrition, remind her that cats don't seem to be people and feature TOTALLY exclusive nutritional demands. If all else fails, and your merciless mom insists on feeding vegetables as an alternative of meat, do away with the cat. It's for her possess security, in any case. And inform her: you cannot quit the animals being slaughtered for meat for pets, however you CAN quit the dying of your cat. Your mom turns out to think she helps animals and now not being merciless through now not feeding meat. What she's doing is the unique reverse. EDIT: Awww, I know the way rough it may be to mention good-bye, but when their prior homeowners reside near you'll be capable to consult with her? Just remind your self -you'll be saving this cat's existence. EDIT X2: And, besides, how deos your mum plan to make your kitty vegetarian? Put carrots in it is meals bowl? Lol! I assurance you, the cat will go away it, cross external, kill a few animals, consume them and go away the carcasses at the doorstep.

Let him know that a ny diet can be considered unhealthy if its not balanced. If someone eats nothing but meat they aren't getting what they need from fruits and veggies and grains.

Just like the people who follow the Atkins diet strictly. They get to much protein and not enough whole grains and fruit.

Buying groceries really shouldn't be an issue. Unless the only thing he buys is meat? Im sure he buys veggies, fruit, cheese (unless you're going vegan).

Send him to me, we'll soon see who's healthy or not !!

I've been a veggie for 26 years, i don't use any suppliments and don't really pay any attention to my diet, i just make sure its veggie.

Am I an office weakling ? Err, no. I'm an arable farmer that spends most of my time outdoors doing manual work.

I'd challange the "vegetarians aren't healthy" arguement with anyone.

My wife is veggie, and will testify to Andielep's answer !!!

LOL!! I have something a bit 'naughty' to tell you. I wouldn't normally say ANYTHING like this on here but It MAY help you argue your case. I will have to use some euphemisms and hope you get what I mean!!! 12 years ago there was a 22 y/o girl called Andielep who was a sluggish little meat-eater who hated having 'relations' (;0) . One day she went vegetarian and gained an actual libido!!!! She got her first 'O' soon afterwards and is 'multi O' now!!! (No complaints from hubby)
(E-mail me if you need more details or can't understand what Im getting at, 'cos I'm a blushing Brit. and have gone bright red typing this lot in!!!)

Hi,
I've tried all different diets, and the weight loss is only temporary. I finally tried diet pills on the market are made from Hoodia. I saw this stuff on ABC News. It's all natural and safe, and it works! My wife took it for a month and dropped 20 pounds. I took it for a month and lost about 13 (but I didn't exercise).

I bought the natural hoodia from this website: http://www.alllsite.info/free-diet-pills.php . I checked the web site address so I can post it here and I saw they're running a promotion now to get a free 2 week sample for only $4.97! I'm going to order this supply for my wife and give it to her for Christmas =)

Not at all true, vegaterarians can be very healthy just as long as they mantain a stable healthy diet with protein included-and to get protein in a vegaterian diet you can add peanut butter too food, and to get calcium of course drink milk and eat maybe some yogurt and eat lots of bannanas for great potassium.

do it anyway, I am a vegetarian, just get lots of excersize and take some vitamins maybe to make up for the lack of meat. I'm perfectly healthy and fit to boot.
