Seems like people are ignoring the VEGAN part of your question.
I'm not vegan but strive to approach veganism so I've looked this kinda thing up since I spend most of my time on the road (sucky job).
At subway if they have the Italian bread it's vegan. ALL of the other bread products contain dairy and/or egg. They'll really look at you weird when you tell 'em you want a Veggie Delite no bread or cheese but do it (better than ordering their salads usually for some weird reason).
Taco Bell. You've got to learn the words "Fresco Style" as that magic phrase removes the dairy/cheese glop from the standard cheapy bean burrito, tostado and the pinto bean cup. Keep in mind that in many areas the flour tortillas have dairy. It's also not a bad idea to ask if they get their beans from the commissary or make them on site. The commissary beans are always safe but in some stores the on-site beans get meat grease added by idiot 'old school' managers! Also in many areas the rice isn't even vegetarian and in some areas the five layer burrito will have meat added!
Pizza hut and Domino's: Everything has dairy!
In the area I travel that's about it. The burger joints aren't even worth mentioning! Cross contamination is rampant, the breads are always dairy bombs and that stupid Burger King sandwich is run thru the broiler! Supposedly you can request them to nuke the patty (which has dairy/egg) but the employees always give you the "cow stare".
In some Del Taco stores they will add lard to the beans! Just like Taco Bell they aren't supposed to but the "old school" managers will do it.
Here's some links to some of the places

Where are you living? That makes a huge difference as to what's available... When we lived in California, I ate at the following fast food places:
- Papa John's (like Little Caesar's, the regular crust and pizza sauce are vegan)
- Del Taco (the veggie burrito sans cheese is vegan and WAY better than Taco Bell's pathetic offerings)
- Burger King (the veggie burger's vegan and the bun is 99.9% vegan)
We also ate at a local Chinese place called Peony's that served Szechuan tofu to die for.
Now that I live in Massachusetts, my options are much more limited. I still eat Burger King and Papa John's, but other than that, there is no fast food because I despise Taco Bell and the Chinese food out here is NOTHING like it was in CA. Oh, I forgot to add D'Angelos; it's a sandwich place (sort of like Subway) that serves sauteed veggies in a wrap, which is quite good.
If we were in Boston, it'd be different (there's a place called Buddha's Delight in Chinatown that is the BOMB! and also an Asian place up in Allston that makes killer sesame tofu....I'm drooling at the thought of it!). Big cities = More options for vegan eating.
Best of luck to you; take a look at the Web page I list below for more vegan fast food ideas...

I heard that Subway cooks their bread using some kind of animal fat. I think maybe it varies on each store or location - you can ask them and they have an ingredients book behind the counter.
We have some Vegan fast food here in UK - I don't know where you are located. In London we have Red Veg which is a fast food burger bar. We aslo have a huge chain of Thai Veg places which are all you can eat buffets. And we also have a couple of Falafel places called Maoz.

I sometimes go to subway and get a veggie sandwich and bring my own tofurkey and soy cheese to put in it! mmm-mm!!
Also, Taco-Bell (skipping the fact that they are owned by the devil) has a lot of vegan options. Ask to sub beans for meat, and leave out the sour cream (which has geletin anyway!!) and cheese. I sometimes get double-decker tacos, crunchy or soft tacos, their rice and beans, and potatoes, also their bean burritos (not all in one go!!)
If you go to their website you can actually do a search through their ingredient listings, and they list all their can-be-vegan products!
O course if you don't like tacos I know know :/ I live in the south right now so taco bell and subway are the only possible options for super-fast food. But we also have other ethnic places- middle eastern, chinese, indian- those are all quite vegan-friendly. I sometimes also get pizza loaded with veggies and no cheese (I always hated melted cheese anyway)
A lot of chinese places do tofu dishes but be careful! a lot of them use seafood sauce! You can usually get them to use a vegan sauce though. It's useful to say you are allergic to dairy and eggs. Allergies are something everyone can understand, when they don't understand "vegan" ;)
Good luck!

I'd say Taco Bell, but truth be told, I haven't checked the ingredients of their refried beans. The empoyees said they have no dairy, but you may want to double-check.
If you don't like cooking, try the pre-made Indian dishes and Thai soups at Trader Joe's. They're pretty well-priced with quite a few vegan options.
really fast vegan meal:
tortillas
refried beans, microwaved
salsa
bean sprouts
roll up however much you want of each and enjoy! Nice and healthy... AND yummy! :)
Hope this helps. I hate cooking too, so the tortilla things are what often eat at work.

I go for 5-layer burritos (minus the sour cream and cheese) @ Taco Bell, that or a bean enchirrito w/out the cheese. I know for sure the deli bread at subway has eggs in it, but I've never gotten a straight answer on the other breads. You'll have to pin down your local Subway manager and make him/her read the box the bread comes in!! And have a salad in the meantime, with Italian dressing. :D I used to get fries @ McD's when my kids would beg for happy meals, then I found out that they are not only cooked with meat products, but also flavored w/ beef fat. Arby's on the other hand swears that they cook potatoes separate from their meat stuff. Happy grubbing!!

Subway will make you a great veggie sub.
Taco Bell makes an okay (for fast food) bean burrito.
McDonalds and Burger King will even make you a burger without the meat (this is their version of a veggie burger).

What a fresh outlook you have! it is solid to make certain somebody right here who's chuffed to get out and permit their hair down. i do no longer understand with reference to the States, yet right here in Australia a solid quickly food standby (and intensely tasty) is a felafel roll from a Lebanese shop (easily fairly healthful). They go properly with beer!
