I can buy some ice-cream, but I really don't want to use whipped cream and fudge/banana as toppings. I have used those ideas already. :) So, I need something that's quick, looks delicious and feels like I spent a lot of time on it. :) I checked online, but they kept giving me ice-cream ideas LOL

I had my wedding and the person in charge at the event left sick towards the middle of my wedding. That was not a problem, since there were plenty of staff on hand. However, cake and coffee service was not served the my guests. The contract said "WEDDING CAKE SERVICE." The plate design for the dinner was wrong too that night.

On the other hand, the chef did prepare a plate of two dinners that were left over and wrapped it up for me to take with us, but the plate was dripping and spilled on my wedding dress!

I am not sure how to address these issues with the caterer? Is it possible to get some sort of compensation for the dress? I have never heard of this happening? Any ideas, comments would help. THXS.

I'm having a house party with about 200 guests friends and family teensn and children included. the last time we had a house party there alot of teens and some pre teens that were consuming alcohol from beer to margaritas to jack and coke. I and the other 3 hosts tried to keep a close eye but sometimes the parents were no help and some even were offended and accused us being rude and stingy, being a little drunk themselves. I would hate to have the same issue again and I dont want to have issues if any cops show up for watever reason I'm stressed. I tried putting a responsibble adult but he could't keep the children from drinking from their parents drinks. Please help me.

Hi,

It's my turn to host a ladies night dinner party. Every month, our neighborhood ladies get together at someone's house for dinner. It's usually from about 7pm-10pm. Although it's not considered "formal," the ladies tend to get kind of dressed up (Skirts, heels, makeup).

I can't figure out what to serve. Most of the things I can think of are hot dishes and I'm not sure how to keep things warm for those 3 hours. Chafing dish? Crockpot?

Any menu or party ideas that are kind of fancy? I'm a casual jeans and t-shirt kind of person so I'm kind of lost when it comes to upscale buffet style dinners at home.

Thanks.

Mari

I'm going to a wine tasting party Saturday and am making three desserts, a six layer ice cream cake, a peanut butter cheescake and a frozen key lime pie. Here's the question. Everyone is bringing at least 5 bottles of wine. 35 people are attending. I have to have a dessert wine to present with my course. One year I did Belinis, and another year for desserts I brought Port. Do you have any suggestions for wine without going into too much expense. I'm figuring 8-12 dollars/ bottle.

We are having a bbq and are inviting around 30 people. We would like to ask people to bring side dishes, but I think it will be a little much with 30 people bringing them.

Do you think that a lot of guests would just offer to bring something even if we don't write anything in the invitation? We know everyone equally well, so I feel strange asking just a select few to bring something...

Thanks!
